i have a 24' with twin 200's, at WOT I'm just under5g on the tack with with quicksilver 26p ss props. i was thinking of going to a 4blade 23-24p prop to get the rpms up a bit about 5500 or so and would like get a little better acceleration starting out

(had to compromise a little here if dad gets to go fast on the river kids get to play at the lake)

I am not a prop expert, but a 4 blade will get you on plane faster for sure.

Most Banana's I have seen that run twin Mercs that are stock run 24p choppers.

I am currently running a 3 blade 24p raker. Very fast, but slow to get on plane. My friend that raced Banana's ran a 27 pitch raker with a V8 Johnson and said it was the fastest set-up.

If you switch the lower units so they rotate in, then you will gain 1-2mph (maybe) and it will shoot a really neat rooster tail until you get on plane...

Downside is it will become unstable and difficult to dock...

I would move the engines closer for sure to gain a bit. You have the drop on cowlings, so I would work.

I say get some 4 blade choppers, but stick with the 26p.

Nice boat - was watching it sell on ebay. Try the 24's 4-blade as 5000 max rpm is too low. You are correct to be trying to get around 5500 rpm WOT.

Yes I did get a digital camera and a new computer with a scanner so I can post all of my other photos.

In the past I had to give my pictures to my brother to post for me.

I havent' been on the board lately because I got a new job as a boat broker for NE Yacht brokerage.

As for my boat, the motor is running great, but I havent used my rig much.

The new job is going to supplement my flying career.

As a USCG licensed 100 ton master I have been looking for a perfect nautical side career. I looked into everything from running a charter boat business to driving a high speed ferry in Boston to starting a boat dealership. All of them great, but tuff to do with my schedule.

Becoming a broker was something I always wanted to do and so far it fits my lifestyle.

I took that photo while sailing on a schooner. I will probably get my a$$ kicked for saying this, but I sail just as much as I powerboat.....

I used to sail big big boats, still windsurf a little here on the west coast, (the gorge).

Props, My last boat wasa 20' tunnel hull w 200 Yamaha.
I tried a variety of props and like a 24 mirage the best.
I used a 26P hydromotive copy that was very fast top end but had no feel or mid range
The Mirage turned 72 mph at 6200 rpm, the 4 blade went 75 mph )w 2 adults at 5400 rpm.

It seems to me that these motors could spin higher.
