Hull #47 found
Went to look at an I/O Banana today.
Hull #47.
Started right up.
It has been painted, but looks solid. Engine seems to be well taken care off.
Owner is looking for $17,000.
Here are some pics...

I had forgotten what the original bolsters looked like.
They seemed so much smaller and taller.
I didn't like the steering wheel position with the tall bolsters.

We never did black engine rooms...always white or yellow.
Race boats always went out as bare glass finish to keep the weight down so #14 could have been painted any color after it was rigged.

#14 has black paint (or glass) in the bilge, engine room area apparently under the stringer glass. but it was an original OB boat.
and it has been converted to BBC and back to OB and has a second transom glassed on, so this probably isn't a good one for comparison.

Hull #47 is a 1988.
It was a genuine Banana Boat.
Trailer was new this year.
I think it is a nice boat.
Seller said that if he doesn't get 17,000 he is gonna keep it.
I told him about OSO.
Hopefully he will join.

Thats a nice looking boat. Yeah having the whell down there with those bolsters doesn't leave much room to get in and out of the seat. We tend to just jump over the top of ours to get in. But on the other hand you feel like you are really "in" control of the boat. Guess I'm lucky I'm a skinny guy.

oh my bilge is black as well. and so was the other one that I found up in NH that was unrigged. I'll guess that the second gen's were done that way.

#14 is believed to be #14 and a first gen.
My Donzi sale fell through today.
THe guy was buying it for his 17 yo kid and couldn't get him on the insurance policy as a operator without extreme rate increase.
Which begs my next thread topic...
