Question New Boat what color?

Okay, we are getting down to the nitty gritty here.

When we lay up the first of the new boats, what color should we make it?

This will be the boat that will be used for the photo shoots and any magazine tests initially. So a lot of the first impressions will be made with this boat.

It will be a sterndrive model as the poll overwhelmingly suggests.

The first time around we made the first boat black as we were going to race it..... and knew that that color scheme would show best in the B&W photos of the old magazines.

The first production boat we made was actually yellow sides with a white deck and bottom and a black boot stripe.

We are going to do an old school look, no multi color paint jobs or murals on the sides. So this is the area we need a color for.

Maybe we should start a poll on this....or will you all have one color you just agree it should be?

Thanks for your input.

Navy hull, white deck.
Or do black hull and white/yellow trim like the 35 in your avatar.

That should be the color of the new boat on a nostalgia theme and tell the press that, name it "Banana Split"
also

It's my favorite color combo even now.

I also like the white panels on a yellow hull, but progressinon/superboat do too many of those and you want to stand out in your positioning, not copy the SOBs that copied you

Default Dash?

Hello TB,

Hope the shop didn't get blown away by Wilma.

Are you using the original dash or did you and Charlie design a new style?

If I was ever going to built a new one, I was thinking along these lines, but with square holes cut into the bulkhead for your feet to rest on. This would give more cockpit space.

I would have to go with the old Black with Yellow, or the reverse.

gee that BAJA 25 ol dash is sweet. but for colors since MIKE SNOW AND JEB BROWN raced a couple of different banana boats .in the 80s and 90s and there boats were yellow, mike's/ green, jeb's work a color pattern using yellow and a green with a white deck would be old school in a way. yellow stripe with 2 green on top with a checker pattern or solid ,white sides with a green yellow 45 degree angle or checked pattern to solid going to the front, The white hulls make any boat look longer.and bigger ,with a new boat you don't want it to look blah,or small an short.A simple design that stands out. bright is in, soft miami colors out. art

Thought you might like that.

I have always liked the Baja dashboards. As well as the small set of steps they put in to gain better access to the fordeck.
