Here ya go guys. A couple of long days and this is what we got together...the steering (mostly), the trib tabs and pumps mounted (use a template for anyone doing this in the future, lol ). I pretty much gutted the superboat and we got the gauge wiring harness dismantled and installed along with the pump wiring :party-smiley-004:
ps. Patrick, I renamed your old boat :) |
oh by the way, anyone know how to get an IMCO helm off an older boat ???? My brother and I tried everything to get the outer part (the shaft that the wheel bolts to) disconnected from the inner plate (mounting plate inside the fiberglass that the helm thru bolts to) and nothing seemed to work. I got the inside helm unbolted and disconnected, but cant seem to get the outer piece off. Anyone have any suggestions ????

Looking Good Chad!
That helm was installed in 2000 or 2001 so maybe call IMCO. You could cut the dash out with the helm in still; then work easier outside the boat. Last October 20 was an OOPS for sure... |

Is it the threaded part of the shaft? If so try to piggy back two nuts on the threads and give her a good smack with a brass hammer or dead blow. Boat is coming along nicely.

Where did your speedo get its info from? I see the pitot tube connects to the inside of the transom assembly, but did you have something in the drive, or a separate exterior pitot tube to pick up the water for the speedo ??? |
