New England Poker Run today
 

Was very happy to have one of our new boats in the poker run today that was put on by Billy Frenz in Fairhaven, Mass.

The water was pretty snotty out there today ......and this boat more than held it's own with the bigger boats.

Thanks to everyone for all the compliments after the run........ from the different people who saw the boat in action....once again that Don Aronow pedigree shows.

A big thanks to Steve P for bringing his boat...... and giving us a display of his high speed running capability......don't start thinking about racing next Steve.

Yes, there is nothing like 47 feet of Apache under you with twin 1200 HP Sterlings to remind you of your quickly passing youth.

Here are some of Steve running in some pretty good water on Sunday...photo taken from a 32 foot Fountain.

That is a video camera in the first shot .....they should have some good shots as he went by the Fountain.

As you can see we allowed the Fountain to have a head start, then the nitrous oxide kicked in......

How fast is that 24? What powewr are you running?

For many years the standard outboard we built was the twin 200HP with the motors on the transom and it ran in the mid 70's...no fancy props or other helpful devices.

With the increase in horsepower from the manufacturers lately, we find we can build some nice singles.....the preferred single set up is either a 300 HP or a 350 HP and that will put you deeply in the 60's....then you can start playing with props, jack plates etc etc....you know where that road goes.

We still have the twin 200's available also .....or sterndrive models start with single 496 HO and go up to the 525 Merc Racing package.

What is the reasons for going with Evinrude over Mercury? I am not very O/B educated? Looks like the Merc. specs show a higher RPM range and quicker accelaeration time.

We build them with any power brand, including the Yanmar diesel setups.

The majority of the boats over the years have been Mercury powered, as you can see in the photos on the owners section of the website.

What Jack plate do you prefer with the V8 outboard set-up...i currently have the Land and Sea Hydrualic that I bought the boat with..What are you guys using in the new boats..I was looking to buy the TH marine Hydraulic..Should I purchase the 6,8 or 10 inch set-back..
