Default more pics

Well, there is no vin. The previous owner had his employees sanding it during downtime at work and they took off all the exterior fixtures and no vin can be found.
Here is a pic of the deck and another from the back so you can see the dash and windscreen configuration. As you can see the stringers and floor need attention, but inside is already done and the engine bay/transom is good too.

That is a MSV boat.

It has the same deck as the old 44 footers had back in the day.....see boat # 83 below.

MSV stood for....Sonny Miller....Bobby Saccenti....Jon Varese.

They won the first ever Benihana race with La Tortuga.

Wow ! Thanx for the help on identifying the brand. The previous owner was pretty sure it was a banana boat.
I'll ask him why he thought so but I think I remember him telling me his previous owner told him that.

Do you think 500 hp would get her on plane and go 50 mph ?

Default Msv

Nope, all I got was what you see and some exterior fittings, motor mounts, gas tanks. Cost......4K. This is a 2 or 3 year project for me because I work on ships and am away alot.

So I imagine somewhere along the line I'll learn more about powertrain choices and get one. I'd like to go modern but I don't think I can justify those kind of $ on such an old boat.
I have a line on 2 chev marine 350's with mercruiser I/O.....

Sloooow Down.

This will be a long project and that is a good thing. Don't jump at motors now that will not be what you really want later. There will be plenty of time to find the right motors for that boat.....and in my humble opinion, they should not be 350 cu in....they should be big blocks to start.

Make a list of what you need and start to ask around the different boards, get help just like you did here. Look in the classifieds and start to record what people are asking for what. You would be very surprised what is out there right now if you have the cash to make a deal.

Motors can be the last thing you buy.....get everythng else squared away first.

I see everything got sorted out and that you got a really cool looking boat.
Congrats!
As Charlie said, take your time to think about your boat and how you want it to develop.
Ive had mine for a year now and the first idea was to run it with a small block. Today thats not valid anymore.
Its going to have a big block instead.
This is just one example of changes I have done.

Make a detailed list for your self about how your MSV will be all that you want. Your dream boat. Engine, drive, steering, interior, tabs, gauges. You get the point, detailed list.
Then you can start to calculate on the costs and see if you can make it or if you have to take a slightly different route.

If you want help, thougts, ideas from others publish the list on here. There is a lot of experience out there with people that already has tryed the stuff you will list.

Good luck with your project!
