Thanks Charlie,
However, we still need to go out and shoot some more films. And LONGER ones!

Lets get the brand Banana Boat Co more visible again.
Like you did back in the days.

Hey Guys,

I posted some video of the first couple of runs in my banana. Go to youtube and type in 24' Banana Boat. There should be 4 videos.

Thanks a lot for this. Inspiering!
Boat look, sound and rides beautiful.

I will do my best to up load a video or 2 when the time comes.

Ps. did you get the prop slip figure to go down from the first runs? If I remember correct I believe you had about 30% slip?
Perhaps it went lower as the speed increased?

thanks pasta !! I hope it inspires the banana restorers to get to work lol. God knows I needed the inspiration from time to time. I haven't figured up any prop slip calculations yet, I am still testing props for speed and rpm. Currently I am running a mercury 4 blade 28 pitch labbed prop. I have a few others to test as well.

I had a evinrude 250 last season and looked ar reprowering it this year, after several calls and con men giving me their ideas, I ended up buying a brand new 250 HO motor which is scheduled to be set up in two weeks. I figured I would get out on the bay early this season and spoke to my brother in law who is the camera man for the local news, he will be bringing his camera to the marina and we will get some nice video. Hopefully we can get a few more nice shots. The boats have a timeless design and get noticed everwhere... Maybe a road trip south??? Keep us posted thanks.

yes sir, some professional protography would be awesome ! The more of them out there running around the better. I talked to Charlie at the miami boat show a couple of years ago about bringing mine down to south florida and getting some pics of it running with a new one....would be a nice add...something along the lines of "new vs. old..we hold true to our design" would have been a cool add but the timing didn't work out for me. You are correct, these boats DO get noticed everywhere...and my favorite saying that I hear from these people is "what the hell is a banana" lol and then they go on to talk about the design and most say, it looks like an old cigarette....I just smile. Yeah bring it south whenever you want, we have a couple of areas to run around here
