one of my favorite features of my seahawk was grab rails built into windshield..that would work great on Banana..almost lost a friend once ..he was standing in between bolsters blasting thru inlet look over and he was gone ..he went right out back and was spawled out hanging onto cushion over motor at about 60..owww the good old days..

84's were after our time....BUT, if it has lasted to this point it is probably pretty good.
The really bad ones broke up and delaminated many years ago. Just look for any signs of delamination anywhere or water in any of the wood, especially the transom. What happened to you and that Sutphen for the Around Long Island Race?? |
does anyone have a pic of minor or starting delamination so i would know what to look for A BEGINING OR WARNING SIGN??..dont think i ever saw it on any of my boats...

It is mainly caused by not getting the resin to really soak into the glass fiber when it is being laid up......if you look inside at glass fiber as it is being laid up, you can see air bubbles ...if those aren't all squeezed out and the resin pushed through the fibers, then sooner or later, the air bubble will pop and start to open up. |
well gues i am lucky never seen it..thanks
