I'm trying to get 2 33 Sutphens, a 31 (McCoy's), and a 26 OB RumRunner to join me in the trek from CT for the run. If Sewfast and T-mone see this, Steve, too. Chime in. A CT Sutphen caravan up 95 would be wicked pissah!

Thanks Christian.....hope to see a few of those old Stuffers up here.

Anyone is invited to join us, the whole idea is to take a day and enjoy your boat in some new waters that not many explore.

Yes, the boat arrived up here last night and it looks like it will be in the water on Sunday out of Oakland Beach.

So lots of boating this coming week after 4th of July....... and the Fun Run will be the following Saturday, July 9th starting at Oakland Beach ramp.

Shooting for a take off time from Oakland Beach around 10:30 AM on Saturday. It is a State of Rhode Island ramp, so lots of trailer parking.

High tide is the middle of the day.

Plenty of fuel docks in the same cove as the ramp.

Looks like we will make it ! Hopefully ! Hopefully the sutphen crew from ct won't be afraid of the outerlimits and bananas!!!!

Can we get a rough head and boat count for lunch? I'd like to have a stretch of the transient dock ready so everyone can be rafted together. And I can have a section of tables set aside.

Waiting for a couple of call backs, so probably Wednesday would be better for a number.

Unlimited jd 07-04-2016 03:26 PM

No problem, even if you give me a call when you leave Warwick, like we talked about the other day.

TomR 07-04-2016 08:08 PM

Karen and I would love to join in the fun if you guys don't mind us running in our Scarab?

POSTPONED

Due to a couple of more guys dropping out this morning, I am postponing the run until later in the summer or early fall (September) where we are not competing with so many other events happening at the same time.

On top of that we are now hearing there is a chance of thunderstorms and heavy rain squalls for this Saturday. That would not bother the Banana Boat guys much, but I don't want to scare away the other brands.

Thanks to everyone who was planning on coming, please give us input on a new date.

ChristianGott 07-07-2016 12:19 PM

Thanks for the update. Sounds like a good plan.

Top Banana 07-09-2016 11:09 AM

Well today is the day and it looks as if we made a good call to postpone. Overcast and rain expected with highs in the 60's. Not a great New England boating day.

Now, I have had some feedback with carious July and August conflicts already starting for some suggested dates.......So, let's see what we can do with either the second or third weekend in September to hold the run this year.

Same course, same zero entry fees, everyone is on their own for lunch at the Cove restaurant in Fall River etc etc.

So The Saturday of September 10th, or the following Saturday, September 17th........Which date is agreeable to more people.

Banana Fun Run......all brands invited. Boating, lunch, good story telling and many big speed lies told by all .....is to be expected.

ChristianGott 07-09-2016 06:54 PM

I like the 10th. I'll be on the Jersey Shore the 17th.

seaman 07-09-2016 08:15 PM

10th sounds good to me

Top Banana 07-11-2016 02:38 PM

Well this is turning out nicely.

It looks like we can lock in not one but two dates for the September run.

A couple of phone calls seem to lean toward the 10th as the date for the fun run, and it should not be snowing by then....we hope!!!!!

Now the second date, September 17th......Did I mis-read that...... or did Christian Gott invite us all down to join him on the Jersey shore that weekend???

sp123 07-11-2016 03:58 PM

the 10th is good for me

JJ30 07-11-2016 08:36 PM

I believe that nopper marine will be having there 3rd annual poker run the 10th which is held at the seaport inn located In new bedford harbor. They're a bunch sutphen guys and I'm sure they'd love to have you guys in the poker run.

sp123 07-12-2016 01:39 PM

JJ30 07-12-2016 08:39 PM

Info will be posted soon I assume but you can call Peter @ nopper marine in fairhaven. He puts it together and will have all the info. The tipsy run is coming up too.

2018 banana runs?

I was wondering if anyone has anything planned for summer of 2018. I need some throttle therapy and it's only Thanksgiving! I have s 89 24 banana with 2 240's and wouldn't mind meeting up with a few of ya'll. Let me know thanks

sp123 11-24-2017 07:43 AM

I'll meet you .... I am restoring a 1987 Banana should be complete by February.....

Fullthrottlebanana 11-24-2017 05:04 PM

24 banana setback?

Sounds good. I usually run Long pond in lakeville. Don't get to the ocean much but would like to. I was wondering what everyone is running for set back on the 24s with twin 200s. I am currently running 2 240s with Bob's 4" hydrojackers cles and 27 counter mazco re3s. Want to get the most out of it right now getting an honest 74 on gps with nosecones 1.5" bellows hull. Wouldn't mind getting 80 out of it but engines are maxed out for mods right now.

Are your lower units (rotating in) so the downward thrust of the prop blade is towards each other or out and away so the thrust vector is father apart, (rotating out)?

I heard that my old 34 footer is in Massachusetts. If anyone knows how to get in touch with the owner, please let him know he is invited to come for the day on the Bay.

The date has been set for 2018. A cruise around Narragansett Bay will be held on Saturday August 11th with a rain date of Sunday the 12th.

Morning meeting at the state ramp in Oakland Beach Warwick, RI and a cruise down the west side of the bay past Bonnet Shores and out in the ocean around the tip of Jamestown island and then back up the East side of the bay into Newport Harbor.

After a slow cruise around Newport we head north towards Battlesihp Cove in Fall River and have lunch at the Cove restaurant.

After lunch and distribution of the new Banana Boat design tee shirts, everyone is free to end the day however they want, the run is officially over.

As the date gets closer, we will post definite times to meet and leave from the ramp.

Sure just pick a date that isn't being taken by the poker runs.
Once we get a count, plans can be made for a restaurant stop for lunch
We can also set a course from bay to ocean and back in the bay again.
