Hey anybody from the North East going to the Providence Boat show tom'w (Friday)?
I went to NY yesterday and was not very impressed....only a few companies with high performance boats.....not that I'm expecting any great numbers of high performance stuff in RI either. I've been away from this stuff a long time.
I'll be there in Providence, if anyone is going, let me know and maybe we can hook up.

Hey Charlie Sr.,
What the matter....Warm weather getting to you? Well, we've got sleet and snow today!
Yes, I am going and am planning on Saturday so far. Some things are a bit touch and go
but I think Saturday is the day. I'd sure like to hook up with you! I'll be checking this forum tomorrow. Sounds good...

Hello Banana heads,
Not going this year. Last time I went to the Providence Boat Show was 2 years ago. Didn't see much high performance stuff.......
However, if anybody goes, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE stop by the "MARINE ENGINES" booth.
The owner of the company is John Keane. He is the Captain of the "Eddystone Light", which is the 40' sailboat I race on. He is a great guy and offers great deals on engines. He has been my dear friend for a very long time.
When you see him, tell him that I said "ACK ACK!!!!!" He will know what it means. He may even tell you the funny story behind it...
When is the Boston Boat Show at the Expo center? I like that one, they have used boats for sale outside if you go out the back door.

Charlie,
Are you still going to the Providence Boat show? I will be going early tomorrow (starts at 10:00AM) morning. The show is at both Convention Center and the old Civic Center (now
Dunkin Donuts Center. http://www.providenceboatshow.com/
Last year had quite a few boats and exhibits; mainly fishing and large cruisers. There were many dual outboard boats. A Fountain and Formula made their presence as well.
Never quite the same as the old days! I remember the Banana display in the outside perimeter area of the Civic Center, as well as some of EPRA members' OPC race boats.
Well, hope to see you there. Let me know if you're going and well hook up.

Whoops!
Charlie, just realized by your post that you were going to the show today. Oh well.
I'll be there tomorrow so if any other "BANANA HEAD" out there goes to the show and spots a guy with a "Mercury Racing" cap, that's probably me.
Have a good weekend!

Sorry Dave....maybe next time.
The Providence show was very poorly represented by performance boats. Fountain had a 27 footer there and that was about it for offshore types.
Air Dog didn't see your friend there....so you will have to give us the Ack Ack story at the reunion.
Enough of this rain and sleet stuff, I'm out of here on Wednesday for some Boca boating with my son. My banana will stay on the trailer this weekend, but I will be out in my 28SS Cigarette.....so at leat I'm keeping it in the family.
Hopefully lunch on the intracoastal and then a little wave jumping with our two boats in the ocean.

Charlie,
Hopefully we'll meet up sometime; when the weather is more favorable!
True, not much in the Performance boat category at the Prov Boat show. It hasn't been that way for years. Willie at Toni Marine had his record setting Allison 20 footer back in the mid 80s, and that was the last "real" race boat that I can remember.
Several Merc "Veragos" were there, and they are quite impressive to see in person. Quite
pricy and heavy as well! It would have been nice to see a tripple Verago powered Fountain
center console at least!
That was probably the largest Boat show Providence has offered, as it took the better part of Saturday for us to take in the sights. Beats work.....
Air Dog...guess your friend "JK" was sick, as he wasn't working the "Marine Engines" booth.
