I moved out of south miami in 1982 due to the lack of the english language. Living in southern calif we have a mexican population but they try to speak english and don't have that arragant attitude. I remember growing up in high school and going to south beach to play hookie and south beach was nothing but senior citizens and cuban rejects when castro emptied his prisons onto our shores.

In 1998 a marina in Ft. Lauderdale trashed one of my motors during a test drive and after I paid to have a new block installed, the yard crew stole the boat for the night using over 80 gallons of fuel and returning the boat with broken air vent and companion seat. In South Florida they take your money and your boat...

handful sorry the thread got out of hand, I wish your friend the best in getting his boat back together. Those older scarab center consoles were the boat of choice back in the 80's. Easy to take care of and big enough to load a bunch of friends and go have fun
