The knowledge , tech and history on Offshore Only cannot be equalled by any performance boating web site. Yea I went over there and had a stiff drink of koolaid but I soon realized why I've been around here since 2000.

I can summarize that, true he was knowledgable and posted helpfully, but there is a line between busting balls and outright insulting people visciously. He crossed that line many many times, was asked to not cross that line many many times. Apperantly it was one too many times.

"Robbed of 700 dollars"...not really, 700 was the amount he took from everyone's "donations" to a charity, the previous time he wrote a bogus check to a children's charity for 2600, some have said the amount doesnt matter, it's the intent. Why would you befrind someone that is in the mindset to steal from a charity that helps children with Cancer?
"Lied about who he is"...ever since he arrived on OSO, he continually bloviated of his boats (somewhere in the mid 20's now I think) and of his exploits in everything from backyard BBQing, to being a self defense training of police officers to normandy style steel beams in the ground to protect his house. As for the boats it was 4 41 apaches, a 38 and 46 cougar, a 41 and 50 foot searay, 6 or so sutphins, a topgun, a couple of 35 cigs (mark donahues old boat), a 28 apache, a velociity which the site is named after, yet the only pics of it are by the current owner in front of his house. The fact that this was done over the course of years, showed that he has socialogical patterns toward lies and fabrication. Your ok with this? this is the type of guy you want on your boat with your family?
"took credit for something he didnt do".... because he was waiting for the payday and got greedy and got busted. Lots of people put 18 months of man hours into building that site, as I had posted previously, when the ownership change here, and the resulting server issues, everyone built what we wanted, in less than a year I saw the writing on the wall and walked away a little after a year. What started out as a democracy led to one person making all the decisions and controlling the content, to what he only thought was acceptable, everything that he did was a calcualted move to bolster his position in the industry to continue to fleece the members like you, by preying on your generosity. You're ok with this?
"Sorry your butts got hurt over this"... making a statement like this and then telling people to respect you in the next paragraph is kind of contradicting wouldn't you say? I have been respectful and even posted my phone number as words can much more accurately describe, and frankly I've typed it more than a few times. In the end , youre free to go and do whatever you want, if you choose to be his friend good luck, but to come on here and ridicule the very people that made that site what you like, (I'll mention being as they are not there now you can have a conversation there with the same 15 or so people) dont expect people to react nicely as you try to rub anything in their faces.

Life feeds back truth to people in its own way and time.. i was not disrespectful to anyone here and merely added a different viewpoint other than what was going on. and yes i do expect everyone on here to treat me with the same respect they expect and deserve.
and the quote "sorry your butt hurts, get over it" is a metaphor my grandfather used when i was growing up.. it means "your going to be ok... stop whining" so consider it out of "love"
so.. no i dont think it contradicts
gota go bro.. id love to hear the whole "cs story" some day. if we ever cross paths ill buy you a beer and lend you an ear.
till then, good day

Post ho's theads were started over on this site a LONG time before SOS was even anyones brain child. So yes I think that everyone loves a good laugh.OSO can be a bit overwhelming due to its size, however everyone has always been welcome, heck even Sunkin can still post hear. We have given a lot of leway on this thread but ussually we try and keep things as civil as we can. Even people that get out of control and banned almost always get a invite back. Maybe some would want us to moderate more but we beleive that you all are big boys/girls and for the most part can handle things yourselves. There are only 5 of us on this board so we don't see everything and that is were we need you guys to help us out with a report to moderator when something is real offensive.

Rob, I've been a member here since 12/03 most of that time a paying member. I don't post here often because I've never felt welcomed or comfortable here. I can't really explain why, but I feel like I don't belong here. Not just from the IB years either. It's hard to relax here.
Over there, never paid a dime for membership, felt welcomed comfortable and almost like I was wanted there.

, I was new here once myself, I just started posting and talking to people, did lots of reading and asking questions in the beginning. It may have something to do with the fact that there are so many members here we are all little fish in a big pond, and there we were all bigger fish in a smaller pond? Regardless we are all here for fun and to share our sea tales and enjoy a like sport, there are lots of the sports heroes that post and read and here you can talk with them, it can be intimidating. I started posting here when I had my formula, I like the fact that any boat/boater can ask questions. Since IB has taken over I have noticed guys asking questions about crown-lines and cobias, and lots of people chime in..when ya really look at it, the running gear is the same, just a diff shape of fiberglass surrounding it. Glad you're here and post away
