Bob OETRINGER ??
 

Hi Guys
I am buying the 2 Big Blocks Bob is selling (fresh power) on the site and he is building me a third. I am in Vancouver BC, so I am doing this sight unseen and in good faith that I will get what I am paying for.

Has anyone had good or bad experiences? So far he has been nothing but great! I just want to be careful since I am handing over my $ from a long way away :)

Do a search for OETRINGER....if the same person then you may want to think twice...

I have done business with Bob for like 20 years now and have always been happy and trust him. He has gone out of his way to help me many times. The motors I have bought from him run great.

Dealt with Bob when he was here in Chi-town and good experiences & great to deal with .. good luck

As with anything, there are 18 sides to every story. Look him up, get his address, go by his house, he will talk about ANY situation with you. I have done deals with him and am currently doing deals with him. He works on my boat/boats. He will tell you like it is and not sugarcoat anything. Some people on here get their feelings hurt. Such is life.

He can build the *#@! out of an engine and you will get the product he promised. Don't be worried about Bob.

Now, Wally. what dealings have you been involved in with Bob? I am sure all that are reading this are wondering where you would get the hard feelings from?

Mark, I Have been dealing with Bob for the last 3 years or so and never had an issue. He has re-rigged my Velocity and rebuilt my motors in it. Bob is currently building my 35' Ocean Express cat with blower motors. Here is the motors Bob is putting whipples on for me. He's good to me and like a brother. I did like thermasystems said, I went to his house from Oklahoma to FL and after viewing his shop and his work Bob will be doing all my work. Bob know's more about boats and motors and rigging than RunninHotRacing163.1 knows about porn.:lolhit:

I have no personal dealing with the guy, like i said "if its the same person".......i have been around more then a few people that have dropped that name over the years and had both good and bad things to say...just do you own investigating...

I whould not buy with out expert to check motors compression,leak down!etc..I think it whould be a safer way then asking people on here to judge!peace

I have known Bob for over 12 years. I have purchased 3 pleasure boats from him (Two of which he custom built), and been involed in 2 race boats. I never had a problem with any of his work or his billing. He was always very fair. When I decided to do some "P" class racing with my Dad 4 years ago I retained Bob to assemble the equipment, build the motors, and manage the team. In the process I first bought a 1974 35' Cig (the former Daddy Cool) He rewired and refreshed it. Then I bought the former Michelob Light a 1977 Scarab and he did a TOTAL restoration of it for me. (Top Banna had some pictures on the Horba site of what Bob started with).
