OSO member The Clan!
Sold him a set of gauges. He hounded me to get them out asap 2 pm's a day. SO anyway this was around the hurrican so it took a couple days longer, anyway he gets them and I deposits the check a week after as it's just easier to do all of the at once then go and dep each individually. Well the nice guy he is puts a stop payment now he never answeres pm's or phone call kinda odd 2 pm's a day from him and now he can't get to mine. It was only 50 but it's principal of it all so any one who does know him can please call him a scum bag for me and a kunt. If you also have a chance slip a douche bag in there. Hope i don't make it to CA anytime soon

mike, that sucks, the guy pimps you out of 50 bucks, and wont respond to your calls.its guys like that that screw things up for the rest of us.imo, for him to do something like that,he must be a POS.just fyi, whenever i sell something ,i like to use paypal, get paid first, then send items off.i have baught&sold many things on oso,and had no problems.glad he only got you for 50,it could have been much worse.

paypal can do a chargeback against you for up to a year later so you are not 100% safe that way either i got screwed for about $8,000 a few years ago 6 months after the guy got the product i sold him he got his money back plus kept all of the product just said he didnt get what he paid for
|

There are alot of bad stories with PayPal and you almost have to have one now to list on Ebay. Google it and you will probably close your account like I did a couple of years ago. |
its not just paypal the problem is there are just way to many people out there doing anything and everything they can to screw you even with my bad experience with paypal i still use them they are probably still the safest way to get paid other than cash or a wire transfer ( which after 1 day cannot be reversed )

I agree with all of you guys. eBay ws same happen to me on a prop they kept my prop and the money how the f does that work and what or who makes paypal the end all god. Watch the fine print it dusk ya.

-Mike If he tells you something is wrong and that he was stopping payment on the check till the issue is resolved. Then that is something he can stand on. This is at least what my lawyer friend told me. It is a fine line. |
Couple yrs ago did reg transactions with firehawk motorsports in indiana. Always used pay pal. No huge $$$$ transactions.
Until I went to get a big $ item, it never showed, called the guy repeatedly with no luck. Tried to recover losses $$$$ thru ebay and its damm near impossible. Called local indiana p.d. And they said dude went outa business a couple months ago. Point of story is even pay pal is a buncha spineless dinks, and your never fully covered. Lost $1900. Firehawk motorsports is, was a m.c. Paypal is a f8cking joke....I have been selling on Ebay for years with no problems, 100% feedback, now with Paypal, buyers can claim foul even if there was no problem and they get their money back with the seller having to prove otherwise....sorry to side-track your thread, but my point is, don't rely on Paypal (or Ebay for that matter) for any back-up if you are a seller, I am sure they have their assbackwards policy for buyers making claims as well but it is worse for the seller.....just try and get YOUR money out of YOUR account if you live outside of the USA......:lolhit:
PS. It is so sad in this day and age that all this crap is going on, I attribute it to the state of the "world" economy, or lack of it...we have all been a live in the moment mentality and it has come back to bite us in the ass,,,,nobody to blame but ourselves.....I remember sending CASH in the mail to pay for items, did thousands of transactions all over the world with never 1 problem, oh the good old days....lmao Hope things work out for you. |
When you accept payment from PayPal for services or merchandise, you have no rights. The customer can claim he never received the service and they will give him his money back. You can send them all the proof you want they will not listen to you.
|
Paypal, check, whatever. Boater to boater, that's just BS!! I have gone out of my way to help people with stuff. I've met several great people here that have helped me as well. It just sucks that a shrinking community like ours would do crap like this to one another over a few bucks.
|
I have sent many members some whom o don't even know parts with out payment and said sent the check when you can, I've been beat 2 I'm a week last week now fck ever1 nothing leaves till full payment and it had cleared don't blame me blame your fellow boaters

Been there done that... sold a 540ci engine a couple years ago.. guy paid with paypal... then said it wasn't as advertised... BS... it only had dyno time on it. Left me neg feedback, paypal took the funds back and he kept the engine. The only thing ebay did was remove his negitive feedback from my account and did the same for him... I so wish there was another system out there to use...

The same goes for the credit card companies as well. They pull the same BS. I have had customers receive product from me, hold on to it past the return period, then file a dispute with their CC company. THe CC company then does a charge back, charges me a "processing" fee, gives the customer their money back and customer keeps product. It is very difficult selling as a merchant or just an individual. The world is full of lazy bastards. If they spent half as much time working legitimately as they do screwing honest people out of money, they would probably end up richer..
Goes both ways........there are a lot of problems that consumers can run up against (and I have) so it is nice that the "little guy" has some big backing from companies like AMEX. |
