Did anyone ever see the movie "A Bronx Tale" and the scene about loaning a guy $20 bucks?
That was $100 bucks out of my pocket. It wasn't a business transaction; it was a "donation" to a "charity" which I wish I knew went to the right "cause." Either way, it definately erased a certain individual out of my life.

Sorry, if the pump didn't work at the time of the survey it would have been in my notes and consequently in my report. I have worked out a pretty good system over the years to avoid situations like that.

If you did I would have started a thread in this section and had taken a chance that the "Moron of Middletown" would hijack it to bring up a grudge against me for an old post.
I have been put in a position here of defending a guy I barely know and a situation of which I was not involved. I will not change my principles or my opinion. I still think it is wrong to attack someone without definitive proof of his guilt.

Sorry to see you're here, as I always found your posts to be thoughtful and intellegent.
Whenever I've been "ripped-off", it wasn't because I wasn't paying attention, it was because I TRUSTED somebody to pay for my work as they had promised. I am happy to say I have only been "ripped-off" temporarily, because I always eventually got paid.

Yes, the charity was eventually paid, but only because he was caught, the reference check was returned twice and then no attempt was made to pay the debt until Alec got a call months later from the charity. Many times he was given the chance to come clean and just walk away he chose to be defiant, and has been ostracized by many in the boating community. To me I have way more than definitive proof.
As for why your post/thread was singled out, my best guess is that some of the members feel that its a double standard when they point out a liar and thief and you disregard it, why should they help you? I'm not saying it is right or wrong, that's just what i got from this thread. I hope you get paid and this will be my only post on this. As for Chris Sunkin, he is a lying scum and deserves everything bad that happens to him, but that is just my opinion

But the pump DID work at the time of the survey and probably still does.
Allow me to create a hypothetical situation to illustrate why I started this thread:
YOU are the owner of a dry cleaning store. You provide an excellent service for a fair price. In fact, you have not raised your prices since 2006 because even though your cost of doing business has increased, you don't think this sluggish economy can stand a price increase at this time.
You are rewarded for your efforts by business flourishing beyond your expectations.
One day a customer picks-up his dry cleaning that comes to $17.65. Your employee is distracted for a moment, the customer tosses a ten-dollar bill on the counter, grabs his stuff and walks out.
Naturally you have his information, so your employee calls the guy to see why he only partially paid. He tells your employee that $10.00 is all it's worth! Your company didn't do the job correctly.
Then YOU as the owner calls him and he tells you he hasn't even taken the plastic bag off his stuff yet, but he assures you he will stop by and pay the difference.
A week goes by and this guy does not show up. You call him again and he is rude and claims you didn't get a spot out of his sportcoat, he's not paying and HANGS-UP!
We're not talking about enough money for litigation, but is it fair for a guy like this to arbitrarily decide that your service is not worth what you've been charging for years? Is it fair to your other customers who paid full price without a problem?
Yes, I started this thread hoping to cause this guy some aggravation. If it does not happen, that's okay too.

It destroys credibility, reputations and friendships. Just sayin.
