Eagle Trailer stolen today

1 Attachment(s)
We just had our trailer stolen off the back of our truck today while it was sitting at Big Creek launch ramp parking lot in Buford Ga which is on lake lanier in GA.
Best we can figure is it happened sometime between noon and 3PM.
The trailer is a 2006 Eagle triple axle with surge brakes. Trailer is white with red pin stripes and Eagle logo with chrome rims.
VIN # is 4JEBE283061256845
Georgia license plate # TL2X402

If any one sees this trailer please send me a PM and let me know.

Here is a picture of the trailer.

By the way, I F@#$ing hate thieves!

raytart 06-30-2012 09:39 PM

That really sucks. Good luck and hope you catch the basterd!

Check to see if any of the local stores, banks etc have video camera's outside. Possible Caught on Camera. Just a thought.

PARADISE ISLAND 06-30-2012 11:15 PM

So many scummers out there hope you get it back!Keep spreading the word!!

puzzleboy 08-02-2012 10:44 AM

Did you have any locks on it? I'm always paranoid about this....

mreedy 08-02-2012 10:52 AM

What in the hell is up with lake Lanier in GA??
Brings me flashbacks of "richboy Danny" and the 29 fountain thread..

FIXX 08-02-2012 03:35 PM

check the local scrap yards also,,ppl cutting chit up for scrap money,,also check with the local marinas that may sell trailers and ask if their has been anyone calling and asking for pricing on trailers for your legnth of boat..

debcod2 08-02-2012 04:44 PM

Its not in a scrap yard as we saw it last sunday a quarter mile from Big Creek where it was stolen and its repainted red and the thief had a Donzi 28ZX on it. Unfortunatley when I called him a ****ing thief, he jumped in his bright red Escalade and hopped the curb with the boat and trailer and took off. Unfortunatley i couldnt catch him again that day since we had our boat and trailer hooked to our truck and wasnt going to wreck our stuff or risk my families safety trying to catch up to him.
I will find him again and probably before the cops do as well!

cig1988 08-03-2012 02:45 AM

Just get his plate number and watch him get arrested. More satisfaction in that rather than you get busted.

debcod2 08-03-2012 04:54 PM

yes I had lockms on it and they drilled the lock in the reciever on the truck and took everything.

Cops went to his house today and got a bit of the run around so to speak but they are working on it at least.

the boys and I are going hunting tomorrow!

will22 08-06-2012 02:06 PM

Happy Hunting!!! :violent-smiley-021:

VetteLT193 08-06-2012 03:22 PM

Post more info when you have time. I'd also like to know what the Donzi looked like, etc. No one wants to do business with a thief or help them in any way so any info is good info.

inthetundra 08-21-2012 03:13 PM

Any updates?

debcod2 08-21-2012 05:56 PM

Well, unfortunatley yes and no. Long story short, I found the guy that had it the day I saw, literally confronted him again and called the cops and when they showed up at Holiday marina which by the way is where this jackass has a slip for his Donzi, they asked him a few questions, and he admited that yes he had a triple axle trailer the week before but now instead of him owning it, he told the cops he borrowed it from some guy and returned it to him that day after he ran from me. Basically he lied his ass off right to the cops and has gotten away with it since they have not and will not do **** about it at this point! Hall county sherriffs office couldnt catch a cold let alone a criminal even if you hand the crook to them like I did! I even told the cop, open the back door to the squad car and I will push this fat ass lying sum***** in the back seat for you!
I have picture of the guy and the boat now as well and will post later.

In case anyone is wondering what a trailer thief looks like, here he is and here is what his boat looks like along with the trailer he is supposed to be buying now which ironcially he wants painted bright red just like he painted mine when he stole it! I know the guy that owns this tandem axle one in the pic and he filled me in on what the thief wants it to look like when its done. The guy that owns this trailer is also working on the boat at his shop in the picture doing some out drive repairs since dumbass ran it aground a couple weeks ago.

Maybe the cops should have gotten the name and address of the guy he "borrowed it from" and gone to visit him. (But wait, that was you.)

I'm sure you old trailer is long gone now - probably hastily cut up for scrap. But at least the cops (and everybody here on OSO) knows what this guy looks like and will be waiting for him to make his inevitable next mistake. All dirt bags like him eventually get caught. And doing what you have done just helps assure that.

Personally though, I hope his legs grow together.

JPD Motorsports 08-22-2012 10:46 AM

somebody would have a drain plug missing pulling that stuff around here.. wonder if the insurance co would get a PI in it and pressure the locals to get busy since they have it in front of them....

if it was me i would get my old trailer, hook it to my truck and park it next to his boat so he has to trip over it in order to get his boat and trailer back..then have stickers made up and installed on the side of it..one would read PAY BACK,,then KARMA B I T C H .then call the law..

debcod2 08-22-2012 06:18 PM

Yes, Karma is a real ***** and he will get whats coming to him someday!

Yeah, it ain't steal'n if they are yours. :)

4bus 08-22-2012 09:34 PM

I think you should gather up about 25 snakes and place them in his cabin at night, from his picture he doesn't look like the type of guy that would like snakes. :D

Or, if you can get close to his unattended boat, some of this in the engine oil does the trick http://www.ebay.com/itm/SODIUM-SILIC...-/260864319776

Sometimes karma needs a push :D

debcod2 01-17-2013 09:18 PM

Well, good news, our stolen trailer was recovered this week and I was able to verify that when they ran the new VIN tag thats on it, it came back to the original idiot that I saw with it months back and he said he borrowed it! So now there is a warrant out for the dummies arrest!

For all the career criminal wannabes out there, when you steal a trailer, dont let your buddy use it to take pictures of his boat to list for sale on Craigslist 2 towns away! This is how I found it again this time! What a dumbass. I knew I would find it again at some point and now once he is arrested, this chapter of our life will be done finally and the insurance company can recoupe some of the money for it now that its theirs again!

Great news!

On a side note check with your insurance for a buy back option. They will usually cut you a pretty good deal to save them handling and auctioning. This will also give you an opportunity to recoupe funds you lost when you resell for a profit

yes it is!
I have some paperwork I need to get to them and I have a buddy that is in the transport business that wants it if the insurance company sells it for the right price.

hammer01 01-22-2013 08:30 AM

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the part that really sucks here is if he did successfully sell it on Craigslist, the buyer would have been screwed as well the first time he went to plate it and it came back stolen? Thieves are bastxxxx!

The way I read it, it already had a new vin plate. Too easy to get them nowadays. Just glad it's been resolved.

hrs pla 01-22-2013 04:59 PM

red

So you got it back but now the trailer is red. is that good or bad and is it a good paint job. I know that a friends dad had one painted and paid big bucks. So at least The guy is out that money.

Wes Burmark 01-22-2013 07:51 PM

Might be worth filing a claim for your $ troubles in small claims court. In my state you can file for at least $3500. Put a lean on the guys boat. In six months you can file to have it auctioned off. You get your $. The guy loses his boat. Life is good.

debcod2 01-22-2013 08:14 PM

He had registered it in his name 3 days after he stole it and had a new VIN tag on it so he was legal since he told the DMV it was home made! The add it was listed with stated the trailer in the picture was not included but they have many trailers available.

My 8 year old could have done a better job on the paint job. This in spots and they never even took the wheels off to do it since they have all sorts of red over spray on them. They were even so lazy that they didnt even paint 90% of the bottom of it. Only paint on the bottom is what over spray made it there to hide the white from a distance.

Insurance company is getting it back and will resell it and that will be the end of this mess. I dont need it as we actually traded the boat and the new trailer in on a new one in Nov.

acceleracion 02-26-2013 05:02 AM

glad you got it back. f-word thieves. at least you were able to finish doing the police's job for them. my home was burglarized on 2011, i figured out who did it, by asking everyone in the neighborhood got the information to the detective, he's actually a friend of mine... and he still coudlnt get a warrant for the guy. i lost about 12k worth of items. i live vicariously through stories like yours i'm glad he got caught.

I can tell you he does not have the trailer. A friend of mine has it-he bought it from the insurance company auction. If he was trailering his boat then I guess he managed to steal another one. If anyone is looking for a nice 30 triple axle Eagle trailer we have this one for sale.

32 Active Thunder 04-14-2013 09:23 PM

I'm looking for a trailer to buy to fit a 32 pachanga but don't wanna step on any OSO members feet pm me if you wanna sell !!!

debcod2 05-22-2013 10:13 PM

Yes the trailer was sold by the insurance company at auction. I wouldnt be the least bit suprised if he stole another one. Even though he pleaded not guilty in court last week, his day is coming and I am coorperating with the DA's offic ethat is still going after him for this and some other things. Plus I filed some paperwork to get some money out of him for this mess. whether or not I ever see a dime doesnt matter but we will see what happens at the next court date coming up.

CraneHillFast 02-09-2014 03:30 AM

Any update on this? I was keeping up with your story last year and ran back across it

debcod2 02-14-2014 11:21 AM

I received a subpoena to be a witness for the trial on this which was supposed to start this past Monday finally but go figure, last Friday it was postponed again and probably wont start until end of March or April now. I think the court system is just trying to make it at least 2 full years since it happened before they actually try and prosecute this guy.

The moral of this story also is DON'T CONFRONT THE THIEF. Call the police without them seeing you, and tail them until the police arrive. Also good to get some pictures with your camera phone.

Michael

debcod2 10-06-2014 05:34 PM

Well good news finally, after 27 aggrevating months of dealing with this issue., it is finally a closed case and the thief is behind bars for a hell of alot longer than i thought he would get and a list of probation items a mile long he will have to comply with.
Justice was finally served and my wife and i can close this chapter!
