Another set of XRs stolen in Maryland.

This makes at least 12 drives I have heard about first hand. Spicy had his taken within a few hours of ownership a few weeks back.

This time they were taken from another OSO member's 386 Sonic sitting for sale at a Marina in Grasonville, MD. They were 2004 vintage ITS XRs with the props still on them; all had 'locks' installed which we know are not worth a crap.

Keep your stuff buttoned down my friends.

So where are all these drives going or ending up? You would think they would show up for "sale" some where? Buying used XR's is like russian roullette anyway, you never know how long a brand new one is going to last, much less a used one with no "real history". Just my 02.

I'm betting these things are getting to the Port of Baltimore and heading to Europe. The Swedes and Germans love our stuff and they are buying it from an importer in that area. The end user has no clue as to the origin so we're probably dealing with an international smuggling operation.

If someone was moving them along the Eastern Seaboard we would catch it eventually but if they go to the Port and into a Sea Can they are gone!!

Down here during the construction boom, Back hoes and Front End loaders were fast movers. Many of them ended up in the islands or South America...gone forever.

9 mike mike and a lawn chair. Unfortunately, that sucks.

I think the bottom line is if people want it they will get it and if you make yourself harder to get than most they will go after the easier target.

This don't help but its fun to think about:
One could replace some bolts with a blasting cap wired to pop on removal. Then the cops would have some DNA from a finger or two to catch the bastard.

Backing up to a brick wall, and tightly chaining with big ass chain to said wall.
