I get the $1K, file a claim, return the same empty box to you with tracking and you try to get your $1K back from PayPal? I'll double it if they side with you, even with you telling them what I said and giving them the internet link to this post. As a bonus I promise to post pics of how I blow the $1K just so you know it didn't go to waste.
I don't agree. I sold a Carver amplifier on Ebay. The winning bidder had just signed up for paypal and ebay. I shipped the amplifier, which was in perfect working order. Keep in mind a Carver amp weighs about 50+ pounds. Double boxed, not cheap to ship. Anyway, the buyer contacts me 2 weeks after they get the amp, saying that the left channel is blown. They want a full refund. I tell them no way, and I have pictures with the Vu meters fluctuating and putting out signal. They complain to paypal, who refunds their money. I keep no money in the Paypal account. Well, Paypal pulled the money from my linked bank account, which you must have to be a "verified" customer with Ebay/Paypal.

Then, the customer sends me back the amp. It is a different unit! I have my serial numbers, and they don't match. I file a case with Paypal, and was denied.

So, the winning bidder got a perfectly good 700 dollar amp for free. On me, because of Paypal.

errr.... You are not disagreeing, you are proving my point. Buyer always wins, seller always loses!

In my example, seller would be the one sending me $1K (or amp), I would be the buyer getting the $1K (or amp).

Since paypal is also an Ebay company they (Ebay) only allow you to accept paypal for ebay auctions. I used to put on my auctions paypal, check , or money order accepted and ebay would actually remove my listings because of that wording. Knock on wood I do alot of business on ebay and have not got screwed over like some of the other memebers on here.

paypal is no worse than having a credit card machine and accepting credit cards yourself except the fees might be a little more if someone is going to screw you they will find a way

When ever you are selling something and someone emails you, and it starts of with" Kindly get back to me" or Kindly anything it is a SCAM!!! I get them all the time. one time i even got the guy to call me and talk to me he was a rag head he sent me a fake $1900 citi check. just use your head if its sounds to good to be true it is there is a lot of scum bags out there for sure... Another paypal scam you need to look out for is, when you sell something and they pay using paypal and tell you not to ship it they will pick it up. the money is there and will clear your account but Make sure you have a paper trail and reseat for/of pick up, because if you do not once they have whatever you gave them they go back though paypal and say they never got the product and you never shipped it and then get there money back through paypal by fileing a dispute and it comes out of your packet and they have what ever you sold them and there money.

there are some credit card companies that will let their customers do chargebacks for up to 1 year so that also gives you something to think about

Credit card companies have an avenue for you to dispute the dispute. With paypal, you as the seller have little or no rights. When I had a problem I sent them all the paperwork but they already hit my account for 2700 dollars. Luckily I transferred the money to another account before the claim. They sided with the customer and never wsed my documents or pictures.

Correct. What I am suggesting is to have a bank account linked to Paypal, then another bank account linked to that bank account. I get paid on Paypal, transfer that money to my bank account #1 and then transfer from bank account #1 to bank account #2. Bank account #2 is at the same bank but not linked to Paypal.

Paypal trys to take the money back? This is what happens:

The only thing I changed on that was Your Name Here, it is an actual email from Paypal. I sold a guy a set of props, welded hubs didn't work for him so I refunded him his money. I transferred online from bank account #2 to bank account #1 and then processed the Paypal refund. Some how the money wasn't moved fast enough even though my bank said it was moved and I got hit with a $29 not enough money fee (later wavied). Just giving my example, lesson is if refunding may want to wait a hour or so to make sure the money doesn't pass itself in cyber-space.

Two types of people on Paypal- those that have been screwed and those that are going to get screwed.
