Heres the way I see it. If your shopping for a USED intake manifold, and your such a anal person, expecting and wanting perfection, than maybe saving 100 bucks by going used isn't worth it!!

some people would complain if they got hung with a new rope :lolhit:

if the guy buying was an honest person and not trying to screw you he would send the parts back once he got the money back even if he send it cod for the shipping cost

Back to the beginning; The guy, that purchased the intake, should by all means send the intake back. 1 hour to look at the intake, why that's ridiculousness!!!! He was trying to get around paying you, just a crook to start with. If you represented the sale properly, there should be no question on what he received. If the water passages were not pitted or any of the flanges showed signs of corrosion, the guy has nothing to complain about.
If this person is a new comer to this forum, I myself would be questioning the buy's integrity from the start, if he is not. He should be called out by members or banned from OSO. If you let this issue go, this person will just think they can get away with it again.
I my self, have sold things in the swap shop, I have sent smaller items out with out receiving any funds prior, I have taken checks, with no problems. Sometimes, it takes a conversation between the seller & buyer to get a understanding of one another or is that person trustworthy. If someone seems from the start to be a problem, it's better to walk away.
Just my 2 cents, 23 yrs of business of dealing with people. I lost about $2800.00 from a customer 2 yrs ago. WAS WARNED, but; I believed his lies and made a poor decision,
knowing better. I would say; the majority of people in boating are NOT out to take you. Try not to judge others for what 1 scum bag, takes from you.

" Try not to judge others for what 1 scum bag, takes from you."

Unfortunately it is the "one" that leaves a bad taste with everyone. I've seen motors shipped up that were represented as fresh water and they were corroded garbage... and I have seen items that were beyond what customers expected to arrive.

A lock will only keep an honest man out - same principals go for pretty much everything in society, unfortunately!

If I buy and have successful transactions I should receive a point. Or, someone start a sticky for trusted buyers, and of course the opposite sticky for those to stay away from. There was a thread for trusted individuals, but threads get to be long reading. Just a starting thought, my .02

OSO has this feature.... Notice under your screen name it says feedback....

I haven't seen one member use this rating system yet. :helmet:
