If anything this thread is a testament to why you would want to do business with ED. If this was an attend to tarnish is reputation I would call it an epic fail.

None of us know why the family member started the thread.
Judging by cigtech's responses I'd guess he most likely wasn't aware of the starting of the threasd as he was a member here 4 months ago and could have executed it himself.
After just looking at his sig line he already owns a 42 Fountain and would have to be well aware of how the game works.
It's a bummer that it happened but as he stated "it is what it is and life goes on" or something like that.

IMO, and terribly unfortunately for the buyer is that this thread totally reaffirms the absolute importance of a complete boat survey, mechanical inspection, and seatrial on any boat that has an asking price worthy of the expense of such inspection.
