Note to never deal with him. Everyone and anyone understands we all have lives and things to do. If I bought something and it took a week to ship that in and of itself wouldn't piss me off as long as the comm lines stayed open.

I mean with a simple ship it back and you're refunded should have settled entire dispute. End of story. Can't ask anymore of a seller who says send back and ill refund.

Exactly. Phuck paypal. I send checks to the seller and expect them if I'm selling. If I'm going to get porked I want it to be the old fashioned way. Everyone on here and a few other sites I frequent haven't f'd me yet.

To date I've been boned $3200 using PayPal. The last 200 was a chart plotter sold on tht. Guy insisted on paypal and I caved......I had a friend bill him for me. Sure as shat......as soon as he got it he said it's not as nice as he hoped and disputed charges even though the plotter was exactly as described and pictured. I partial refunded 200 just to have him f off so I could move on. ....
Other $3g was from motorcycle parts years ago.

Basically any form of online purchasing/selling has its merit to be screwed. Hell in person people get screwed. It sucks, it's part of life and it will happen to all of us at some point. With a forum like this a lot of that is minimized. Yes it does happen but I bet nowhere near as often as places like eBay and cl. I like PayPal and will continue to use it. Stories like this is how we know who to avoid.

Ive made 3 transactions in the last 2 months, each time I sent a check, told seller to cash and send merchandise, no problems so far. I think ive been lucky, but I'll give someone a chance and if they screw me I'd definitely let people know.
Why do folks have to be that way? wtf! We're all brothers on here, some with money, some not so much, but we all love the same thing.my 02.

PayPal is an eBay company and from what I know about eBay complaints-- the "complainer" has to try to make it right before they file a complaint. He didn't do that. So if I were you I would call PayPal and tell them what is going on. If he lied and didn't contact you before filing the complaint, then use that to your advantage. Then make a PayPal return-to-sender shipping label (for free) and e-mail it to him. If he wants to make this easy, he can print it, slap it on the box, and ship it. If he does end up shipping it, you pay for the label. But in the end you get all your stuff back and can try to sell it to someone else. Yes you will be out the shipping money ($70ish bucks) but at least you won't have to deal with that azzhat any more.

Good luck with that one! I run a web site that sells equipment for treating sleep apnea. One of the products that we sell is a DC battery to run the machines. They have a 1-year warranty. Had a customer call me 3 years after buying one to tell me his won't work - bad cell in it. Could have told him sorry 'bout yer luck, but offered to sell him a replacement at our cost and ship it free. Instead, he orders another one from the site, we ship it, and a week later he files a "not as described" claim with PayPal and SENDS BACK THE OLD ONE. These things have serial numbers on them, and it was obvious that he had opened the case on it, so we sent PayPal a bunch of pictures to document our case, along with screen images to show that he had bought one 3 years ago and was shipping back the old one. Didn't matter - PayPal ruled in his favor. We do $70K plus per year through PP with NO other claims besides this one. Doesn't matter - PP is totally tilted in the buyer's favor. And good luck trying to communicate with an actual human being at PP - if you do, they will be in New Delhi.

Major credit cards are almost as bad if you are the retailer. It is so easy for customers to file a chargeback basically on a whim. Unfortunately it almost always is ruled in their favor, and the retailer is on the hook. It's no big deal if you are a huge corporation like WalMart, but for little guys like me, it's like death by a thousand daggers.
