Been with a Credit Union for 30+ years. Awesome people that treat you like a human, not a number.

I had a bad experience with Genisys Credit Union. Thought CU was the way to go. Now I'm back with Bank of America, PNC Bank and TCF Bank. Screw credit unions. Dodd-Frank Act screwed a lot of things up but if you make some noise you can still get good service from a bank.

My experience with Key was awesome. Zero complaints. This said, a buddy used them and they jacked him around for 3 weeks and then went to another lender and closed his deal in 3 days.

If you are former military, check out Pen Fed credit union. They are awsome and very competitive rates.

They are not trying to be awful to deal with. The polices are in place to protect the bank. We are not talking about small time scams here. There are global organized crime syndicates with glorious (literal) programs on how to scam the banks out of money. This "time padding" is them crossing their "T"s and dotting their "I"s. It sucks, but that's how banking is now. And while it's an inconvenience to the end user; you sure don't want to be ANY party to the converse.

I had great dealings with Key Bank. They actually loaned me more than NADA of my boat because it had newer power. Most banks simply go on NADA. It was a rather easy process too. Never went to the bank until it was time for a signature. Once we went in and signed paperwork, seller had his money within minutes.... Sorry you had bad experience with them AJ

I have to admit I've used them twice, and the experience has been good overall. They are a little slow sometimes, but they explained that to me up front. Both deals were done within a week. Never an issue with the wire transfer or funds.
