He took money for parts and didn't deliver. I will say, I did business with him one time and got what I paid for. I think that was early on, before things went south. There was a time on OSO that you didn't DARE speak ill of Fred without being flamed off the board.

I still have a Trick marine t- shirt in a drawer.

100% correct,,when I spoke out against him I had to delete the thread because of his OSO fan group back then,people would defend him no matter what.

Wish I could find the shirt. Middle of "Trick Marine" as things started going south I ordered a bunch of small items. Took 3-4 returns/exchanges to finally get all the things I originally ordered. They included a Trick Marine T-shirt. Soon after I wrote the word "GOT" across the top and put a "D" after the word "Trick".

Same here, bought 2 flame arrestors from him, no problems, I guess i was lucky..

I too, must have been one of the few. Fred and I did business together with no issues. He also helped us out with our early racing efforts. Sad to see how things turned out.

There have been numerous characters that wore out their welcome here on OSO through shady behavior over the years. Sometimes you see it coming a mile away, other times it can be surprising.

I purchased some billet anodized and chrome fire extinguishers from him. No problem. But that was before he was burning people.

Same thing with ANYONE that does a call out thread with anyone else on here, when the person being called out is liked. Stand by to get sh!t on by members.

I heard Troutly is out of prison for a while now. Pretty sure there's a couple people on here that know where he is and may still have somewhat of contact with him.

I remember people standing up for "Big Scotty" talking about how they've hung out at the lake with him... LOL

"Big Scotty" got a bunch of people to bite on his tall tales. He definitely got towards the top of the OSO offenders list real fast...

He was in jail less than a year.

I WAS friend's with him from LOTO. After he was convicted and released, one person I knew heard from him one time.
He lied to his family and all his friends. He burned every bridge with everyone.
His victim niece was killed by a DUI driver shortly after he was released from jail.
His wife and son are the victims still suffering from his actions.

i don't recall anyone saying that, Fred tried implying that to cover his own ass... no one that i know of ever said they met him in person. there were many people digging into his background because of it.

I'm not a big fan of that last name for sure
