Perhaps I misunderstood this post, then. It sounded like you were kind of incredulous that the moderators (or whoever) didn't just step into action to get you your money back. Sadly, it just doesn't work that way.

Sometimes, somebody just has to take it on the chin for the team. And, yes, it sucks when it's your turn in the barrel. Hopefully you can get a stop payment in place before the transaction transmits. I know my bank is pretty good about this. Not all are.

I know we've had our fair shar of scammers on IntlWaters, our model boating forum. Luckily our moderators are pretty interwebs savvy, and have been able to get them banned before they can do too much damage. It really sucks that we honest folk have to navigate these assboils.

FWIW, I, too, have had nothing but positive monetary interactions with members here on OSO; all three of them . The only negative I've had so far was entirely my fault for not making sure what I was buying was what I actually needed. Caveat Emptor. Shame on me. Wouldn't happen to need a handful of 6" pull-up cleats, would you......?

I hope you get things straightened out, or the payment blocked at least. Really.
