I called and explained myself. They walked me through the report a seller. And at least got the process started. You did remind me of something very important. And grateful you did. The part of them selling something they don't own, they don't physically have, and selling something they haven't even agree'd to sell with the actual owner violates ebays terms.

Honestly, I've bought a few boats from Ebay. And One Dollar boats is the worst. I did file a report and talked on the phone with ebay today. And since venmo will do claims as well i made one with them today as well. Hate getting ripped off and on ebay it just makes it worse.
I’m currently going through this headache as well. Just filed a dispute with EBay and got a lengthy reply same day basically saying it isn’t covered for protection. Also filed a dispute with Venmo. They are looking into it. Funny thing is once I opened a dispute with EBay the seller “onedollarboats” finally messaged me on eBay saying some cryptic message about now that payment has been disputed kindly wait for result of dispute to see if it is in my favor to receive refund. It’s almost like a tactic they have used before knowing that eBay will not side with the buyer? Im frikn livid! I spent nearly 10k on a boat I don’t own or ever took title or possession of. Hopefully Venmo resolves this and gives me my money bc if I don’t get it back heads will roll!

anyone have luck getting their money back this way? How long does it take?

I started my claim of not getting the last boat i paid for on March 18 2025. My dispute says they are still waiting on a reply from One Dollar boats. I sent Venmo a copy of the email from One Dollar boats claiming to Ebay that i never paid for the boat. Ebay sent me the email saying the auction was cancelled due to non payment. Still waiting on venmo to make a decision. Michael

Thanks for sharing Michael. Hopefully you get your refund from Venmo. Please keep us posted. I just filed for mine on 3-27-25. Also did you ever talk to a human calling the listed number on onedollarboats eBay listing? I actually had a lady identifying herself as Ashley answer. This was after I paid and was arranging to go see the boat. I expressed how surprised I was anyone answered and concern over contacting them if anything I have any concerns when I go see the boat. I asked her if there was a direct number I could call. She offered me her own personal number and to please not abuse it. I’ve texted with her numerous times leading up to my filing a Venmo dispute. Each time she assured me I would be getting my refund and she had “sent over my request to him”. - him being Onedollarboats She also indicated it could take some time but usually is 48 hours and not sure why it’s taking so long (at that point it had been 5 days since my request).

What kind of evidence did you supply Venmo in your dispute? I just got the results back from my dispute and they denied it on grounds of “Not protected under Purchase Protection”. I went thru Venmo’s app uploading evidence like the OnedollarBoats ebay listing, emails, eBay messages of me requesting a refund bc the boat what not as described. I don’t get it! I figured I would get my $10k back by now. It took 2 weeks for Venmo to say my dispute is denied due to not being covered. I sent an eBay message to OnedollarBoats today basically threatening to contact the police, IRS,FBI. And guess what?! They replied quickly saying they’re sorry it’s been a nightmare for them too trying to refund me as Venmo won’t let them refund me and it might take a few more days!! I’m frikn losing it. I filed a police report in my town and have contacted my bank to open a case. I’m not going to sit idly by while $10k goes to these crooks.

I opened a dispute with Venmo because Onedollarboats would not reply to my messages of me requesting a refund after I went to the boat and found it not as described. While the Venmo dispute was pending Onedollar emailed saying they couldn’t refund me til the dispute was over. Well the dispute ended and was denied. I then emailed Onedollar again saying refund my money or else! A few days later they refunded me via Venmo. If they had just responded to my refund request initially I could have avoided the whole Venmo dispute and 10 days of waiting for the dispute to be “investigated”. What a stressful pain in the ass! At least I got my money back but won’t ever get my airfare, hotel stay, and car rental money back that I spent going to see the boat. Lesson learned!!! Stay away from OnedollarBoats!!

💡 Pro Buyer Advice
Read the full listing: check for location, condition, title status, fees, and terms.
Call ahead if you have questions or need clarification on transport or paperwork.
Don’t expect turnkey boats—plan on investing time and money post-purchase.

👏 Bottom Line
> “I’ve bought over 20 boats from them. Most were great deals. When two had issues, Boat Liquidator credited me without drama. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.”
