As many have said there are at least two sides to every story. In my experience with Black Thunder over the past 10 years I found Bob Jenkins and his family, Roger and all of the plant employees as straightforward and honest as any human I've ever met. They honored every commitment they made to me. I was a customer for about 5 years while I owned my triple 43 and continued to help with hull tuning and design assistance as they required. I was never compensated financially.
There is no doubt that the early 46' had some ride issues. Instead of denying this, they sought out guidance from Michael Peters who helped in the original design. They continued to test and worked on various changes until they came up with what I think is an outstanding bottom design that is stable and dependable in all conditions.
In this type of business it is virtually impossible to please everyone. These are custom boats for owners with high expectations, not dis-similar to high end sports car owners. We are generally pains in the butt to any manufacturer but the builder knows that from the get go.
One need only look at all the late model high end Cats in particular that are for sale and you quickly discover that sometimes expectations don't meet reality real well. For one builder, I believe that over 50% of that they've built in the previous 4 years is currently for sale. Mind you, it's a good looking product, we're just flaky customers.
Before you slam anyones product, maybe you should take a look at what you build or sell or service and ask yourself if you always bat 100%? Imagine if there was a website for your product and people were able to post whatever they wanted about your product or service without repurcussion?
Before anyone gets too big for their britches, count your screw ups first.
As for the poster that started this thread post exactly what happened to you with Black Thunder or anyone else for that matter. Post facts, dates, dollars etc, keep it subjective and maybe it will result in a remedy you'll be satisfied with.
For the rest of us that are happy with our boats, life is pretty good isnt' it.

I don't really have a beef with Black Thunder and spoke to them a few times before buying a 47 Fountain. I love the boat but sometimes I still think of what it would have been like to have a 46 BT. At the time the market was good and they didn't seem very interested in my business, but I never really had any issues because it never got that far.
