Black Thunder and Trick Marine same BULL..!!.
I will never buy another BT in my lifetime ! My boaters mission from know on will be to advise every potential buyer I can find TO STAY away from this Boat Builder.
As me & the wife invested, time, efforts and incredible travelling expenses, to meet and negociate whit the president of this company. We where promised a bunch of things to close up a " DEAL" that we had cancelled just a few days prior because of MISSLEAD and FALSES REPRESENTATION infos on the actual hours of use on this boat and that was discoverd by a third party at a mecanical Inspection I paid for ! .In a nuttshell we know now that all of these PROMOTIONAL GIVE AWAY and MSSING PARTS ON BOAT that where SUPPOSED TO BE TAKEN CARE OF IN A FEW DAYS by the Sales Rep and then shipped out was used on ONLY AS A SALES PITCH, and BT`s real intentions was never to FILL IN this Agreement they had whit us. We have beeing waiting know for over 7 months and nothing as happen. Furthermore we paid CASH in Advance at the time of delivery for these missing parts. and My last e-mail sent to them this last Febuary as not to this date beeing aswerd for ! This is their way of thanking us for the business we gave them ! So this is how BT KEEP THEIR CUSTOMER SATISFIED, they just take their money and then run to the Bank and finaly just ignore them. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS ITS REALLY WORKING WELL ! A very very Unsatisfied Internationnal Customer.:hitfan: |
Here we go.
|
You are not the only person who does not like thier business practices... get in line behind me and others :(
|

That is sad to hear...
Considering they are on the top of our list for the next boat to purchase. I will say this,, we can't afford new, so our purchase will be gentely used:p I would like to hear what the actual concerns are; just to be an informed consumer. If its actually concerns they have in the build process or if its a lack of customer service. |
Ok !! Take a step back ...........Fantom X has 18 whole post and comes on here bashing BT ?????? Not alot of merit with me so far,I hate it when someone that has only been on OSO for a short time becomes a computer cowboy. Step up and give us your name!!
BT has another side to the story also. Just my .02 |

I am always amazed by people who put cash up front for something of this expense.
BL has been taking a beaten on this forum as of late.... and I also have considered a BL for our next boat. I sure would like to hear the other side of this story. :food-smiley-007: |
Maybe :hitfan: "Buddy00" :hitfan: or whatever it is now converted him!!!

BTW: I heard something recently from one of their suppliers that suggest BT is hurting. The new boat market isn't exactly bustling right now. |
Excursion, I am not bashing at the Boat .We made our homework before puchase. We negociated whit the president imself, made Me & wife some promises, we sign a purchase agreement before leaving MO,1 week later we canceled the deal because of TITLES not being clear, Then after solving that issue, we had a inspection done, and finaly found out that the boat we had purchased at 175 hrs, was registering 340 hrs on the EFI. !!!! So we Cancelled again the deal, Try to Figure out all of the PROMISES WE GOT TO RE-SIGN A DEAL !!!!! We where CRAZY enought to give in to all of this BULL. and they dont stand up behind their WORD... The boat was a used unit they had for a couple of years.
|
Ok...
I have to ask... Which boat? |

Sinkorswim, We purchase the 46SC 2001 that as the Triple 500 EFI set-up. The boats name in the USA was¨ NO COMPROMISE¨ We inspected this boat in Hannibal back in October of 2005, (before it was re-painted by MitcherT ) Dennis was at that time the Sales Manager for BT

This thread set idle for over a year and now you reply to what Fantom X said???????????? Why would you bring this back up? Geeze people. All I will say is that I had no issues in purchasing my boat from BT. I do a lot of business in a big city and must say that it was a true pleasure to deal with the small town people of Hannibal Missouri. The entire company was a family type atmosphere.

I am in the final stages of having them build a new boat, they are doing things for me that they have not done in previous boats. Example, extending the engine compartment an additional 8 inches to accomodate staggered engines with room to work infront of the lead motor, and a few others as well. To date everyone that we have dealt with have been upfront and willing to listen and change things around. I will go into detail later, for now I will sit back and observe.

Spiker, I am glad to hear you are having succes with BT, I met Bob at the Lauderdale boat show and thought he was very sincere about all the concerns I had if & when I was ready to move forward with them to build one as I would like it to be. Good luck with your's and keep us posted, maybe on a new thread. JB |

I know of good and bad experiances with BT Some people swear at them, others swear they are the best thing on earth All depends on the experiance In this economy no boat company can afford to piss off one customer. I loved my BT when i bought it new in 1998 it was one amazing go fast condo I hope all gets better soon Best of luck to all |
Well, my question still stands. I still just can not understand why after over a year that this thread was replied too!!!! Boatme, not questioning what you are stating. But, the Boomer 880 item you are replying to was posted 4-17-2008!!!!!!!! It was like gijane just woke up from a coma a year later and replied. Just curious as to why now after a year. Not trying to start up a bunch of crap, but again "geeze people"!
|
I just saw it (probably cause it got brought to the top)
all i was saying is no one is going to be happy with evey one all the time and some do have legit gripes it is more how they get solved Obviously Boomer has moved on he bought a Hustler after hsi deal soured and yet many new boats were sold to happy customers since Never know how things change (Or don't) Press on young Skywalker :) Time moves on |
what does Trick Marine have to do with you getting the run around from BT

As many have said there are at least two sides to every story. In my experience with Black Thunder over the past 10 years I found Bob Jenkins and his family, Roger and all of the plant employees as straightforward and honest as any human I've ever met. They honored every commitment they made to me. I was a customer for about 5 years while I owned my triple 43 and continued to help with hull tuning and design assistance as they required. I was never compensated financially.
There is no doubt that the early 46' had some ride issues. Instead of denying this, they sought out guidance from Michael Peters who helped in the original design. They continued to test and worked on various changes until they came up with what I think is an outstanding bottom design that is stable and dependable in all conditions. In this type of business it is virtually impossible to please everyone. These are custom boats for owners with high expectations, not dis-similar to high end sports car owners. We are generally pains in the butt to any manufacturer but the builder knows that from the get go. One need only look at all the late model high end Cats in particular that are for sale and you quickly discover that sometimes expectations don't meet reality real well. For one builder, I believe that over 50% of that they've built in the previous 4 years is currently for sale. Mind you, it's a good looking product, we're just flaky customers. Before you slam anyones product, maybe you should take a look at what you build or sell or service and ask yourself if you always bat 100%? Imagine if there was a website for your product and people were able to post whatever they wanted about your product or service without repurcussion? Before anyone gets too big for their britches, count your screw ups first. As for the poster that started this thread post exactly what happened to you with Black Thunder or anyone else for that matter. Post facts, dates, dollars etc, keep it subjective and maybe it will result in a remedy you'll be satisfied with. For the rest of us that are happy with our boats, life is pretty good isnt' it. well said as always Steve

Hey Steve were you at the Miami show in 2002? I got a demo ride with Black Jack and Tom. They had closed Gov. Cut because of 9/11 and we had to go out the next cut south. We got up on plane and about a mile or two later we were flying off 4-6s, I guess there was a storm or something out in the Atlantic. Wow what a ride in that big monster!!! :D I had never been in seas that big before then.
Jay Pilini passed us haulin a$$ in his 36' demo boat but about five minutes later he came back by us. Tom figured if Pilini wouldn't go out in the Atlantic we better not either so we turned back, but I was very impressed by how the 46 handled fairly big water. I was a little shaken up but it was fun!! :D |
