Where's the usual: "I've been boating for 20 years and
I've never seen the need for a lanyard!" stupidity.

Or is it in this thread somewhere and I missed it.

When I am running hard I always wear it...sometimes I forget to put it on, but normally slow down enough to be able to click it on. No good reason not to wear it.

Check to make sure your lanyards work. I was running a poker run last month and I went down into the cabin during a card stop, which pulled the switch but the boat was still running. I guess I gotta get that fixed...

Default lanyards

Our new exclusive HP insurance policy requires that a lanyard be used.

And how do you enforce that? Just curious.

Default lanyard use

I can normally tell if the lanyard was used or not by trying have the boat removed from a tree or having AAA show up instead of SEATOW to remove the boat from someones back yard.I have had claims for both of these scenarios and neither of these claims would have happened if lanyards were used if in fact the boat was equipped with them. I think that the claims people could make call.

Good point Sy. Too many boats, from bowriders all the way up have been seen flying into houses, on islands, wherever. The faster you're going, the longer the projectile.

In any kind of rough water, I always wear mine. Just look at family, kids, friends, and imagine the worst. It's happened.
