State Farm and boating safety
1 Attachment(s)
This ad was in Boating magazines April 2008 edition. You'd think State Farm would know better.
not safe to have your fingers in the water now or what?
does he have on a lanyard :D
The boat appears to be in forward motion. You can tell by how the water is cresting at the bow. If you look close you can tell that he does not have his lanyard on. :D
NO LANYARD, DENY DENY DENY CLAIM, I don't care who is at fault or how much coverage you have DENY claim, oh and your premium just went up !)) BIZZZILLION $$$$
That sums it up:angry-smiley-038: |
It's a kid's hand, hangin over the side on one of those new beak-baja bowrider boats :p

State Farm saved me a lot of money on my boat ins. Though I've never needed it......It's good to know it's there. |
Next will be ads in the motorcycle mags with some clown doing wheelies standing on the seat of his crotch rocket. Or not?
That ad is the clearest message that could ever be sent about the recreational boating hobby and industry. Boating is so much fun that nothing bad could possibly ever happen. Hang off the bow, get 30 of your best friends and pile them on, grab some brewskis and we're off for a day of fun in the sun. |
If it is a stepped hull he is about to spin out!!!!
Good point- that could be Cahbar's hand caught just as he was being tossed.
actually i think its blee's arm hangin off the front.. its just where he landed after one too many redbull and vodka.. enroute back to edock.
I think the guy just got done puking on his way out of party cove!
SF does have good boat rates! |
The State Farm that I deal with said they don't ensure high-performance boats. It was a sticky situation when I already had teh boat and they denied insurance. They insured the damn H2X I had before the 25 Outlaw, even though it was more dangerous than the Outlaw.

Same problem for me. They had covered both of my dad's baja's and his 35 Fountain with 500 hps. Gave me quotes on a 29 Outlaw, then came back and said they wouldn't insure it or even a 25 Outlaw or 27 Fountain.
They're insuring mine. I don't think they've seen my avatar though! I guess a 272 is a family boat.
They did the same thing to Me.:angry-smiley-038: I went with Sy Goldberg on here and never looked back. :D
As soon as I said "Cigarette Boat", SF showed me the door. :(

Maybe it's a territorial thing, or they have it listed as a high-performance boat at my place and not yours. My home insurer picked up the outlaw so there were no worries. Amazingly the insurance on my Honda CBR1000RR is pretty cheap through State Farm.
State Farm only looks at the CC listing on bikes. So, a 1000RR is only a 1000 cc bike. Smaller displacement than a Harley or other cruiser bike. They dont look at the model.
As for my boat, I have State Farm. Pretty good rate too. |
How close was the boat that took the pick
I've had my 30' sleek with State Farm for 2 years now, the only thing they asked was what was the motor. Since I started with a 502 block, thats what I told them. They looked up the stock hp and let me in. I forgot to mention the supercharger or the bore.
I had talked to my SF agent before I bought my 32. She wouldn't touch it. I called another SF agent, he took it. He looked it up, asked how much I payed, HP rating, then asked if I wanted stated amount. I couldn't beat his rates anywhere locally.

State Farm has some of (if not the best) rates for Sport Bikes. In fact, when I get a quote request for a Sport Bike, I refer it to State Farm. SF's marine policy is another issue. It lacks some important benefits like Agreed Value & Uninsured Boaters. SF is a great company, I just don't think their marine policy is the best (or equal to the rest of the products they offer). |

I have SF for the 288, They cover it through my home owners, ended up moving all my insurance through them w/ one big umbrella policy. We have full replacement coverage.
