The Red is mine and just two ShadowCaster SCM-10's and the green one is Project Mayhem and two or three A-12's. This is in Lake Cumberland so not salt water clear by any means!

:eekdrop:Very interesting thread. I had bought some lights for my Eliminator project that looked pretty bright in the house (shining down the dark hall). They are going to be interior foot lights now. I really liked the discussion article from wakeworld earlier in the thread. Looked to me of more like a real world test of sorts rather than any brand advertising their stuff. Given the price being similar I am looking at the shadow casters & abyss models at this time. In florida you will need an "all around" (360 degree) anchor light along with the red/green when running at night. It should be installed at the highest point on the boat. but for underwater I don't have any idea.

I realize this is an old thread that was resurrected, but I figured I'd share my Underwater LEDs. I bought these used from the Powerboat Swap Shop on Facebook for $100 a bulb (pair for $200). New they were almost $900 each. Looking at their brightness I now see why they were so expensive. I have two of them mounted below the outboard bracket, so they are fairly deep in the water compared to others I have seen. I think having them deeper diffuses the light beam, which creates a very nice glow instead of seeing the actual bulb and a narrow beam of light. I have had no issues (with law enforcement)with having the green underwater lights on. However I have been told by the local Sherriff to turn the Blue Cockpit Lights off.
