Good thread guys. I am interested in these but only to use while docked. Do they need to be mounted below the water line?

Normally they mount below the water line just to cool them, bu the OceanLED can operate when running.....the non-LED types cannot both becuase they get too hot and the vibration of the boat kills the bulb life.

Here's a link to a thread from WakeWorld where a couple guys took all of the underwater lights and did a test. Very informative reading for anyone interested. They used the Abyss lite, OceanLED, and any other light on the market that was available.

One of the lights tested is my friends comapny (ShadowCaster)
Not the cheapest, but nice lights.
