Nav Lights All Around White Stern
USCG regs advise I need to put an all around white light on my boat...I see Cigarettes and other manufacturers use a stern mounted light.
Where is everyone mounting the all around light.
I need to keep the mount clear of the cockpit cover..it also needs to be removeable ......any ideas.

My Cig has a stern light, as well as a pole mounted light that mounts on the deck just in front of the cabin. Its a two position light, all around when anchored and just forward when underway, and the stern light provides the reast of the 360 view when underway.

thanks for the reply..I did notice that on the Cigarette site. I dont think I want the light in front of me on the deck...I am going to have to find a flush mount style base that I can put on the deck of the trasom area.

I do not want to hijack the thread but since we are talking about the "white nav lights" can anyone suggest one that has less glare? When we run at night the damn white light really takes away from any night vision I may have and I hopping there are some that deflect the light up and out and not down into the cockpit.
We have 4' pole style on the stern that is removable right now.
Thanks

Prior Coast Guard boarding officer here. While under way you are only required to have a 135 degree white stern light and 112.5 degree red and green towards the bow. You only need the 360 degree white above the highest fixed object on the vessel while at anchor.
