Is that you in the pic of a ss9m race boat flying out of the water? Looks like a hard landing, but an awesome picture.

A great runner. Humberto Picon and I were good friends for a long time. I havnt seen him in a while though. Someone said he's selling cars in Homestead.

Is this the same company making the current CC boats that look sharp?

ss8m

Not sure if they are now owned by the same people. I know Carrera has changed hands a few times over the years. Im a fan of their older style hulls. I recently purchased a 1989 Carrera ss8m with a single BBC. I think its a great riding and handling boat. Not the fastest boat being 27 Ft long with only a single in it. But I am presently building a 540 to hopefully take care of that problem!:evilb:

Any idea what an SS8M would run with twin small blocks? I don't know a lot about the boat. How much power would you need to run 75 or so?

ss8m small blocks

The person I bought my ss8m boat from, his brother had the same boat with 2 small blocks and Alpha ss drives. That boat ran over 75 MPH with I believe 400 Hp each. 383 CI motors. The small block boat was alot faster than the single BBC. He did have a problem w/ breaking outdrive parts though.
