Friend of mine is looking at a 2004 Carrera 290 Effect.

Anybody have any history on them? Finally found a website but the phone number is disconnected from the factory.



Are they well built,.... or just ok?

Do they handle well, or nerve wrecking?

Can the handle a #6 drive and big power?

Any concerns at all that he should be made aware of?

Any insight anyone can add would be truley appreciated.

thats the "other" Carrera out of California.
More known for jetboats,lakeboats and Party cats than offshore machines.

How were they built?

Chopper gun,......... Hand lay-ups?

stringer's ? Transome?

Sorry dont really know much about them.
I do know you can find out a lot more about them
on hotboat.com than here.
Its more Cali and Havasu related than here and
there are many Cali Carrera's on there.

I had a 2001 Carrera 257 deck and I liked it. The 29 is much larger. I have never been on it but I have seen it up close.
