Question Want more info on 89 Carrera Classic

I have a 89 Carrera and these boats are so hard to find info on.. Im asssuming they didnt build that many being that little details like hand painted number the carrera name and model does any one know about the designer, builders, or really anything about this company?? They seem to be a real solid hull atleast mine is and it is in pristine condition so i am assuming they made quality boats!!

Most the information here is on the Carrera's made by the compnay in Miami which made mostly offshore raceboats owned by Humberto Picon who also raced them.Later they sold that company to the current Carrera in florida that uses the same hulls with center console decks making high performance fish and party boats.

Your Carrera was built by a different company in California which made mostly pleasure style smaller lake style boats and party cats.
That company is now owned by the same guys that own Cheetah boats and may be able to help you out with more info on your boat.

I Bought your old 23.5 Carrera Classic this past summer and I have been very pleased with it so far. I am wondering if you ever had any luck finding info like an owners manual? I have been in touch with RPM about the boat but it would be nice to have a manual. Also would you happen to have any props for it anymore. I only received 2 when I got it.

Dennis Winzen from Portland Oregon was the owner of Carrera Boats in Corona California. Dennis made a well built, hand layed boat with fantastic gell coat work. They were top shelf SoCal boats in their day. Not an offshore boat but were very stylish and well built / rigged with lots of options. Google Dennis Winzen, you may find what your looking for.
Dennis let several other SoCal manufactures purchase cutting edge hulls in the late 80's / early 90's. Eliminator, LaveyCraft and others used his molds. Dude was a straight shooter and built a great boat.

IIRC, the classic was a 27'er? Put an optional radar arch on it and was a considered a " cigarette boat". The 23.5 was the same boat but shorter. Not the best handling boat as a single BBC didn't push it to big top speed numbers but twins made it so stern heavy it didn't plane well and was twitchy at speed. Not to mention the beam was really narrow and twins made it all but impossible to perform maintenance. The shop I worked at had 1 of 2 31' Elans. They were based on the 27 Classic but had twins. The boat was bought by a Sacramento turkey farmers. I hated doing any work on that boat, zero room in the engine bay. Fun boat though.
