We had our spring fun run yesterday. The Checkmate was over matched by most of the other performance boats (need more power) but we had fun anyway.

I know of a few Checkmates in New York that can give them a run for their money..

I am sure you do. We had a few legs of the event were a small group of boats were able to burn out the carbon. There were not many boats on the lake yesterday (still early in the season here) and we all value safety. With that said a good power run with boats that run within 10mph of each other is a blast. I found myself with the slowest boat in the group. I know the lake well and was able to position our boat well going into bends. To say we had fun in one leg in particular is an understatement. Boating, you've got to love it.

Yeah, I do love it. BUT, it can be a pain in ass..

Glad you guys had fun. I would have loved to come but I am still installing my add-on steering. I might be boating on the Illinois river next sunday if everything goes as planed.

Where on the IL River? It would be a bummer not to boat on Memorial Day weekend, hopefully the steering project will get done.

I was going to seneca. I made a mistake so I won't be boating this weekend. Parts will be here next wed. Oh well
