Rob,

The kit is complete. Everything you will need is included. You just need the complete indicator kit... guage, cables and thru-hull fittings.

Vinny

Why did you buy the combo mechanical tab and drive indicator gauge? Is your electric drive indicator still in use?

Re: Engine Shop

No, the electric is disconnected. I set the drive up with a mechanical indicator as well.

I was cruising this thread over the weekend and talked myself back into a set of performance tabs. I think I may pull the trigger this time.

Any luck on finding an open slip?

No luck. I am going to use my slip rental fee to buy some new tabs.:evilb:

Magic Medicine 03-18-2008 06:31 PM

RJBBC,

Good luck with the tab install. What are you going with?

The ramps can be an adventure in itself. I am looking forward to it.

I wanted to share a recent engine upgrade on the sales cruiser. I will post pictures of our new tabs as soon as they are installed. Ordered them on Thursday.

Here are some fun pictures taken this week. One is a 944 with a blown chevy making 600HP!! The other two are from Putnampark in IN. The people who work at Putnam are great. Racing your car around Putnam is almost as fun as running WOT in some challenging water or so I am told.:cool-smiley-026:

Rob,

Good luck with the install. If you need help, let me know. What are you doing for indicators?

Vinny

Vinny it's good to hear from you. The indicator is tab only by Livorsi to be installed in the same location as yours. We wanted to install the "slim" drive and tab indicator in the same location. My mechanic said there was not enough room to bolt down all 4 studs. I said Vinny figured it out you wimp. I am just kidding I didn't say that, but I did think it. Anyway I just looked at the boat again yesterday and both tabs are installed and look great. The guy doing the install does great work. He installed our steering as well. I know I probably should be doing this myself right. My wife won't even let me hang a picture without her supervision. I am dangerous with tools, not very talented in fixing anything mechanical. I will post some pictures of the completed project. I think it should be done in a week or two. We still have to order the new indicator and then order the cable/line lengths. Boating season is almost here.:evilb:

Vinny P 04-06-2008 08:02 AM

So, did he get the indicator in? It is really tight, but I did manage to get all 4 studs in place. Although I did make a blood donation in the process. :(

Vinny,
No indicator yet, it should be ordered soon if not already. You sound like you were determined to make that sucker fit. We lack your determination. We are sending it back and buying a smaller one.:angry-smiley-038:

Post a few pics when its done. In fact, just to break balls a bit, print mine out and show the guy. :grinser010:

Bert, get a fried chicken and Patron dispenser installed and you are set!

Looking good, Bert. Tell Nick to get it wraped up. He's got distributers and intake manifolds to install on D3!

I told him I am not in a hurry to get it back. He may start on Pratt and Wally's projects before he finishes the Checkmate.

Thanks Magic. Have you taken the Dominator out yet? Tyler Crockett has a cost effective upgrade kit for your 7.4s.

Vinny,
Here is the finished tab upgrade. The pictures show the gel work but I cannot see the repair in sun light. Maybe I am wearing beer goggles. Anyway I am very happy with the finished result and want to thank Kirk at Elite Marine for all of his help. I have never had better customer service in the boating industry. I never showed the installer your picture. He does good work and I think working on your own boat brings a different mind set.

I have ran it briefly, so far so good. I can't wait to get it out in some decent water. With gas as bad as it is the 7.4's are looking better and better.

Look slike a nice job. I am sure you will love the difference a good set of tabs make.

Vinny,
You are right! We went out today and the boat traffic was heavy. The tabs really keep the nose down. We can adjust the drive up to a more level position and let the tabe keep the bow steady. What a difference! Worth every penny.
