Hi andy went for a short ride today a little cool but still a blast.
Well boat runs 70 mph on the speedo and 68.6 on gps with a full tank. May have been the last ride for this season.

Thats damn fast for a 496ho, what was the air temp? I might hit the lake today for the last blast.

Air temp was 65 and sunny, water temp 62 just a little cool for a swim. What are you using for a prop? I have a 24 hydro quad 4, works well runs the same top end as the 3 blade merc prop that the dealer installed. Maybe i will get another ride in befor it gets too cold.

I made a 70.5 at 5250 rpm gps pass yesterday. I am not sure of water temp, low 60's probably, the air temp was 75 degrees and sunny. I am running a worked 24 bravo 1 prop, the props has some nics in it. I am not sure what was done to the prop, the work and the nics were done to it before I bought the boat. I would like to run a 26 bravo lab, I am also thinking of having my ecu reprogrammed, it is way too rich on the low end.

Andy you should be 73 to 74 mph, your rpm looks a little high, you need a different prop,I think a 26 pitch hydro or bravo one may be what you need. My boat came with a 25 pitch mirage plus 3 blade, it was faster but you had to baby it out of the hole and in sharp turns it would blow out.I had my hydro labbed, it's just as fast on top as the 3 blade now and much better handling. Brent at blades wanted me to try a rev 4
and a bravo one. He really likes the rev 4 but he never sent the props out for me to try so i don't know if their better.
