Anyone heard any rumors about Checkmate being sold?

The new majority owner is John Adams of "Baja" fame. From what I've read from Kip at Checkmate is that the the change should take place in the next few weeks and that great things are planned for Checkmate. Improved interiors, advertising, new products, rigging, etc. Kip, Mike, and even Bill will remain at the factory in various roles. Let's hope that this is a positive change. There are many die hard Checkmate fans out there that want to see the boats get even better...after all, Checkmate has been around for over 40 years!!!!

Yep im hoping they get the word back out about checkmate. I havent seen a checkmate ad in a boat magazine in...forever lol.

I think John Adams was like the 2nd President of the United States. He probably would have liked Checkmates and Bajas though!
