thanks BB , i remember years ago when he first listed it he wanted 20k
gotta love this buyers market

jeff1000man 03-25-2009 03:53 PM

Congrats. Can't wait to see it in the water and what it can do.

Are you going to get rid of the Budweiser sticker?

ENFORCER24 03-31-2009 02:05 PM

feakin OSO , didnt even realize there was another reply Jeff
yea , Bud is gone now , thank god it was decals
couple weekends ago was the first sea trial , only thing that really stands out to me is the steering , the cable just isnt cutting it
so this weekends project is to install hydraulic steering and sea trial again
on the bright side , with out any trim at all and 2 year old gas it went 55mph on GPS , should be a solid 65mph boat when all is said and done
cant wait till summer time !!!

Shah Mat 04-01-2009 12:25 PM

What did you do with teh 24?

I think you can upgrade those engines pretty easily also.

It's a cool old boat.

sold it to a guy in Philly , it was up in the swap shop for a month before i let it go , cheap , but i refuse to be a 2 boat owner

as for the upgradability of the merc's , if i decide to keep it more then 1-2 years , i'll invest in a newer pair of injected 250's or similar

What's wrong with being a 2 boat owner? Between my girlfriend and I we have 4:evilb:

some can and some can't , i'm sure with the 4 you have theres one that gets more use then the rest (the convincer i hope) , i keep the number capped at 1 so i never have to decide which one gets used , which one gets money thrown at it , which one gets waxed etc etc.

45sonic 04-06-2009 12:30 PM

Hey what are you trying to say about owning more than one boat. Time, money, maintanence, etc. I don't see a problem

I gotta find a way to quote your sentence under your name , Looking to trade 2 for 1 , that just about sums it up dont it ?

i've had the flu for the last week , and it was terreble looking at my new baby sitting in the driveway , and new parts stacking up on my garage floor , all this while not being able to enjoy the nicest weekend so far this year , god i cant wait for summer !!!

i really just cant wait to cruise my new boat over to Cobb island and back into a slip (not looking like a hotdog in a hallway) and enjoy a frosty one with friends

45sonic 04-15-2009 04:28 PM

Actually it should read "Looking to trade one big one for a smaller one". We are keeping the Sonic and looking to get rid of the Searay

I Know a guy with a 28 Checkmate that would be happy to trade for a 45 foot searay , even tho that searay drinks more then a Kennedy

:evilb:

PURPLE HORNET 07-28-2010 11:20 PM

Do you still have the boat

demag67 08-01-2010 08:02 PM

if your asking if he still has the twin outboard checkmate, i saw it go off on ebay for 2500.00.

ENFORCER24 08-07-2010 09:31 PM

that was me who sold it on ebay for 2750 , added 1k for the trailer so i only lost about 6k on the package , sad reality was that i really never enjoyed the outboards , got me a 251 convincor witha BBF now , still love my checkmates

I dont get it are you saying BBF Big Block FORD Is it the 460 and what kind of drive

ENFORCER24 08-09-2010 07:00 AM

Yea , ford 460 and king cobra drive , actualy doesnt do bad , still looking to convert to bbc and bravo over the winter tho

its the only "mate" i'v seen with ford power

PURPLE HORNET 08-09-2010 10:39 AM

Never seen a 251 Convincor with a ford. I have seen some of the smaller mates with them.

ENFORCER24 08-09-2010 01:20 PM

pretty wild stuff , i'v already converted it to BBC manifolds (cause fords are impossable to find)

kreed 08-09-2010 03:58 PM

I had a feelin this would happen, I mean not being happy with the outboards. I was tryin to convince you NOT to get rid of the BBC boat in the beginning of this thread, but you had some "saving on fuel" thing in your head. A friend of mine always says, YOU CANT PUT A PRICE ON A GOOD TIME...and a BBC is a good time! Good to have you back.

well said , but as most of us do , i have to make my bad decisions on my own , the smaller boat went to a good home , and hopefully the 28 is going to a good home , and the 25 with the BBF is right at home under me for now , still want a bigger boat tho , but this will have to do till the right 30 or 33 mate comes along

i'm gonna post a new thread with some pics later this week , show people a big block ford checkmate , and my newest project :evilb:

You can make some good power with a 460 ford. bump up the comp a little bit and go from there.

alot of people have told me that , only a few things holding me back , biggest is budget , ford stuff is more expensive and harder to find then chevy , also the king cobra drive on the back is good to about 500hp from what i have read but there still isnt a way with out fab work to put external steering on it , change over to a bravo and i have a heck of a time finding a BBF bell housing and coupler , either way its definatly a torque monster , and would probably be a good candidate for a small blower to get that 150 ponies till the drive kicks .....

kreed 08-10-2010 08:22 PM

Sounds like a cool new toy. Always liked Checkmates myself. Good luck with it! How fast is it?
