Anyone used a Bravo 1 prop on a 251 Convincor? I have a Hydromotive QIV on there now that runs great but it seems a little bow heavy at higher speeds. It takes a lot of trim, past the drive limit switch, to achieve decent speeds on flat water. I read the Hydromotive is good for boats have natural bow lift like the old Convincors, but maybe it's the all junk on board for over night trips + the AC unit mounted mid ship.

Stock bravo 1's have been the best all around prop I have seen for a Convincor. I would try on your boat the 24p bravo A labbed one will blow out and rev during crusing speeds and is only good for top end, and is useless everywhere else. Checkmates have no problem carring the bow so a bow lifting prop is no good.

Understand what you are saying but you also state that if you trim it. It will come up and thats a Checkmate. Theirs no need for a bow lifting prop if your trim will lift the boat. Thats what trim is for.
Let us know the true stats of the prop. I recomended NO 3 blades for any Deep V Checkmate Obviously you have never been in a ZT hull. As stated here they ride very wet with alot of hull in the water. The recipe that BBlades has been using for Noyzee's boat and my old boat has to do a semi agresive lab and then add more cup back in, works great! With that being said Convincors and ZT are a totally different animals, for my experience Convincors traditional have no problem keeping the bow high! |

Purple, even trimmed way up, past the 1/2 way mark on the trim gauge it still rides very wet. i think brett was on the right path with the 26p but my boat just didnt have the power to turn it. i think if he does that to the 24 i sent him, i will be in good shape. Magic, your right on. i can trim my boat up till i have a roost going, the boat goes no faster or slower after a point, and the r's dont change. the 26 bblades did for me seemed to work the best so far for carring the boat (still a little to wet) but with the lower HP mag i couldnt spin the prop past the 4400-4600 range. like i said, i tested the 24 b1 on my boat tuesday and it seemed to be pretty good but would only run about 4600-4700 rpm trimmed way up, so im guessing if brett labs it up nice, and throws what he needs to for the bow lift, im thinking i will be in good shape!! i 2nd day aird him the prop, so he should have it today |

ive ran 28 and 30 b1's 1.5 bravo, 88 251 convioncor, 509 blower, about 700hp... always seem to slip about 2800-3000 until you get the speed up, once at cruising speed about 45mph 3000rpm it hooks... i get alot of bow lift, he i am cruising at 70.

got it running at the end of last year, i had it 84gps about 5400rpm, that was for a couple seconds, i havnt pushed the sticks all the way yet!! im waiting for an xr upper, 700hp is estimated
