I have about 400 to 425hp and the boat runs about 75
with 25 pitch merc prop. I've tried two different
four blades but performance wasn't any better.
What speeds are you running?and with what power.

I have 450hp heads, cam, rollers, fordged internals, Performer intake, Holley and Mallory ignition. The one thing I'm missing is exhaust. If I keep it another year I may add it, looking to move up if possible. How do you like the EMI's you have? Looks like they fit like standard manifolds.
Mine runs 72- 75 depending on conditions. I had major chine walking problems with the 23 Mirage it came with. The 4 blade cured that.

Mate 229 The eddie marine manifolds fit perfect and look
awesome. I'am also thinking of selling my 229 and getting
a larger boat. A ZT 280 would fit in my garage.
Do you have any pictures of your boat to post. Would love
to see another maxxum like mine.

I should have some pics this week. May not get them posted til end of week as I'm traveling to South Carolina for 3 days on business. If I can find a buyer for my boat I'll be looking for a 251,253 or 259. Want something with a little more freeboard to run in the Chesapeak bay. The 299 is a great lake/river boat. There's another 229 in Richmond sporting a Ford big block.
