253 Cabin Update
#1
I have been thinking of updating the cabin. Removing the wrap around grey couch and cabinets for the weight loss and more useable room like the white interior pictures. Replacing the seating area with new foam, and netting for storage. Has anyone done this? I have updated/changed my boat completly over the last 7 years. Any ideas? Winter sucks.

Not sure how much weight you'd be saving, or how easy it'd be to remove everything? Really, I think that just a reupholster and maybe some different colors would really update the cabin... it looks pretty decent as it sits- just a little dated with the buttons on the cushions, imo. The cloth is probably pretty comfortable, too.

Maybe between the crushed velour, and the 90's Teal I can see why you are considering a change.
Bring the boat over to Bucyrus, and we can do the updates right at the Checkmate plant. Hey we are bored too.....Winter sucks.

Kip had mentioned a month or two ago that you guys were busy building boats and refurb work was on the back burner. Has that changed?

I think I will remove the wrap around couch and have new foam+gray cloth color cousions built . The yellow + teal interior i designed an few years ago with the checkmate logo, I wanted to add another color other than white and try for a factroy look. Could be why i have not sold it yet. I do like bright colors.
