Can you guys help me identify a boat. 1976 Checkmate possibly 258? Owner claims its 25'8" LOA and has a 454/alpha??? combo according to the breather on top of the engine. Has tabs.

Based on the year, I would guess it as a 251 Convincor.
Although the 1976 Checkmate brochure doesnt show anything like that.

Well If my boat goes I intend to go get it. She's in the hudson valley if anyone wants to beat me too it. Seller is moving out of state (or so I was told) and needs it gone by the 31st. Is way aggressive on price

definatly in the 80's , 70's wouldnt have been an alpha drive either , looks just like my 88 251 convincor , i know i'm a lil late but what is "aggressivly priced" , bought mine on the trailer for 6500.00 , of coarse its a ford engine and king cobra drive , but i'm still ahead of the game
