tried out my new hydromotive four blade today. WOW is all i can say. granted it is about 2 sizes to big in pitch but the ride is fabulous. nose does not ride high anymore, tail rides higher rough water ride is unbelievable and handling is awsome. i thought i would notice a little difference but this was amazing. it honestly felt like a different boat all together!!

mxz;we have tryed to tell other check owners about how well this prop works on our hulls,we have also talk to the checkmate factory about how well this prop works.i am sending my hydro back to tom at hydromotive today to have the prop tips feathered for that extra little tweaking. this pro really makes our hulls run a more level attiude as you noted.. safe boating bill

hi guys,i'm pretty new on here,hopefully someone can tell what prop I need on my 1997/253 w/ 502/450 engine,it sounds like hydromotive works very well,how much diffrent is it from my bravo 1 /4 blade,also what pitch would you use,thanks

253, What size is the Bravo prop you are using now? The Bravo prop is a bow lifting prop. The hydromotive is a stern lifting prop. Usually you'll get better cruise speed and plane time from Bravo. But better top end speed and handling with the Hydromotive.
Does you boat chine walk at or near top speed?

253;
I have talked to Hydromotive on this subject. From what they told me, when comparing a Bravo 1 to a Hydromotive there are a few differences:
A 24 pitch Hydromotive means that the prop has an average of 24 pitch measuring from the leading edge to the tail end of the blade. There is a 3" progression of pitch from the 2 ends. While a Bravo 24 pitch is measured from the tail edge of the prop, so in fact a Bravo 24 has really only a 22 1/2 pitch.
The Hydro blade has a straighter tail end when compared to the more curved Bravo. I believe he told me that is one of the reasons a Hydro will outperform a Bravo in rough water. BUT, he also told me that a Bravo will outrun a Hydro in flat calm water.
CheckmateF1 filled you in on the bow and stern lift.
I am sure I forgot alot of things on this subject. We were on the phone for a long time, he must have told me more, but that is all that comes to mind. Maybe guys here can fill in some more information for you.
