I finally got to take out the 28 for the first time. I ran the Atlantic City Poker Run Sat&Sun. Took her in the Ocean for the ride down and the Intercoastal for the ride back. 63 hot boats showed up for this event. It was great! I am very impressed so far with the Checkmate boat. Many that saw her couldn't believe it was an '89. Sunday after I got back, I rang her out a bit. I'm still getting the feel for it. I'm trying to find my optimum height setting because they are on hydraulic jack plates. With the little bit of seat time I have in it, I got 80 mph with a half of tank of fuel, 7300rpms with one motor slackin'. I found out after getting back, that motor's prop worked her way loose which may have been the cause for the lower rpm. I'll see next time out and keep ya's posted. So far, I'm a very happy Checkmate owner.

Speedo... But maybe if I remove the pick up I could get a little more speed! I'll have to put the GPS on my Christmas wish list...
