Default ZT 260 - cuddy storage

Checkmate ZT 260 owners: Do you guys have any access hatches in your cuddy to storage areas either under the bench seats or under the V-berth sleeping cushion? I heard that some boats might have storage areas. Mine does not. I want to cut some holes and put in access hatch covers. But I want make sure that those areas are not filled with floatation foam or something. If so, does anybody have pictures so I can see where they are?

Thanks guys.

Don't think there will be foam. I have a '85 24' Sonic I added storage hatches to both of them. Looked at some older Mates that had same.

I called checkmate years back and asked about this, i asked why they dont do it from the facotory and they said the less holes the stronger the boat will be. less stress cracks etc. so i took there word for it, ive had the boat for 4 seasons, its an 03 with over 400 hours and sure enough i have not one stress crack on the boat, and i have used it in the ocean for the 4 season i own it with good size waves etc. boat is solid. so i left it alone.

one easy way might be to cut a small round hole to look inside, go bigger and bigger but go the size of the round inspection hatch incase you find something. then you have an easy patch job.

then borrow a bore light from a mechanic friend. I have one small enough to go through a spark plug bore.
