Factory is empty, Doug Smith sold everything out of it. Bank has possession of the building and moulds. It is believed/known that Hustler is trying to complete a deal with the bank. At least a couple dealers and maybe a few customers are owed money for undelivered items. Maybe this is not new news, but it is all I have heard confirmed, from 2 very reliable sources.

It was nice knowing that I could still get some original materials/parts from the factory. If Doug sold everything out of it, I guess I'm a bit screwed in that regard. Did everything get spread out a bit? Any chance someone bought a bunch of stock?

this sucks to hear, to bad. i thought that the baja checkmate mix was going to be a great boat for the 30 and under market.
to bad.
i was thinking about sending my boat to them for some freshen up work but guess not anymore.

Be patient. I just bought another boat from a man who is also a Checkmate dealer. He just went on vacation a weekend ago and met with Doug Smith. Hustler is supposedly buying them and Doug will end up managing it for Hustler. The factory is not empty, things are just put away "neatly" to start up again when the deal is finished.
