Steve-
I have a 94 283 Convincor this is 27'11" without the platform today it is know as the 303. Has a fresh 509 and new interior in the cockpit(execpt carpet). Tons of room in the cuddy two opposing lounges, and a v-berth my wife and I have overnighted in it quite a few times over the last two years. The lounges have fillers to make it into a bed also. We had it right at 63(62.8)radar at the omaha shootout last fall so it is a true 60mph boat. Love the boat but I'm kinda itchy for a larger boat, if you'd be interested let me know.

Steve;
I have a '99 259 (aka 270 ) with a 454 magnum. Slight bit of work to motor, Gil Exhaust, Teague Flame Arrestor, adjustable fuel regulator, MSD ignition. I spin a stock 24" Bravo 4 blade. I see about 67 g.p.s. at 5000 r.p.m.
Wild Willy gave you a very accurate run down of the interior and hull. It runs best in the chop, solid performer all around. I could not put a price on the boat you described. as was said before too many variables. The main variable is which 454 does it have?? Whos' steering? Single ram or dual? Which graphics package?

Steve,
That motor is the 454 MPI. It is good reliable piece, but be aware that attempts to add power to it will become difficult due to the fact that the lower end is contains cast components not steel as are in the 454 Magnums. Also, the intake manifold or plenum is restrictive compared to the magnum plenums.
One other thing, why are there 2 deck hatches? I have never seen that before. All the other Checkmates I have seen have only 1 hatch on the deck.

that's a decent price for that boat. i would look to see what they want for it with the 540. You won't be happy with the base 454 motor in the boat. It will run around 60mph (radar). i have a '97 253 Convincor with 575hp. Same hull...runs 80.9 . With the 625hp you will have a nice running boat.

my buddy has a 259. side by side in the rack the "wetted running surfaces" appear to be the same. both have the notched transom step and the same x dimension. Up top is a diferent story. he has about 6-8" more room in the cockpit, where i have it in the cabin bench seats. plus his is wider in the cockpit area.
