I am not too well informed about Checkmates. Good for the rough stuff or more for inland lakes and rivers? What boats do they compare to?

I run a 251 (87' 572 BB ), yes it is a good rough water boat, does better with 1-2 foot chop. We boat on lake Michigan and it can take most of the rough stuff. However as with everything I still think bigger is better. I am wanting a Top Gun
